Wasn't Urobuchi's character a massive jerkward and/or edgelord? So... Why the heck did they bother to genderflip them and give her such a stupid costume? Especially those weird boots.

Wait, so they took a black-haired, red-eyed man wearing concealing clumsily-stitched together scraps and belts with a sword, and decided to adapt the design to a white-haired, blue-eyed woman wearing revealing, tailored clothing with improbable footwear and no weapons to speak of? And they did this when the original character could've been made a woman with no actual changes in appearance?

Well, I guess she's still wearing black. That's probably close enough.

She still has the sword, but now she wears it in a case strapped to her back. You can see it in the teaser here. That specific change actually makes one story aspect make more sense than it did in the original.

I'unno FD, jynx is pretty stacked, and there's a lot of different head sizes to choose from in that particular anime. The 'mons probably qualify somewhere in there.
