Well, it isn't so much a game yet as an island terrain generator. Once we have gameplay and interaction, then we shall see a game coming along nicely.

small update as i'm starving at the moment:

the basics of graphical displays of wood resources and population sites are in, also you can see a bit of the printing text to screen with my debugging display:

the models are just some quick placeholders i threw together.

Wow, even as placeholders that looks really cool.

Do all those Resistance, Integrity, Aesthetic numbers actually mean anything at this point?

at this point no, but the plan is to have these numbers affect the various aspects of the resources use, from how it wears out the tools used to craft it, to the resilience of the structures built out of it, to how much the people who use the end product appreciate having it around.  There will also eventually be ranges that are dependant on the type of wood that it is, but right now they are all open ranged, 1-1000 stats.

I've sent over a new tile pack, with a and b versions of each tile for some variety. Plains should look better, now, and I've improved the 2-2 tile. I still haven't made a good looking version of ?-X tiles, so the X-X nub is still in there.

The tiles loaded up fine, and I added code that randomly selects them, i've also been experimenting with different ways of handling the drawing of the models, to try to solve the slowdown from having too many tiles.  I also set up a code repository on a friend's server so I don't have to worry about losing the code.

I work for the Wisconsin Senate, which is in session right now, so I don't have as much spare time to code.

They'll be in session until the last week of February, then pick up again from the end of March to the start of June

Oh hey, I lived in Wisconsin until I was 8.  Damn, I still miss that place.  The meadows and forests are much nicer than the steel, concrete, and desert scrub that I'm surrounded with now.

Yeah, live out on a farm in Wood County, only problem is the non-constant temperature, in the Summer it can get up to 100 and in the winter it can hit -40 (F) so you never really adapt to a certain temperature, thus you always cold or hot.

I was a bit further south than you, but I remember the temperature swings.  That and the crazy storms that would come in the summer and knock all the trees down.
