I'm surprised at how well the Fallout vault theme fits good gameplay.  Stonefall traps seem kind of like land mines to me, so I'm liberally mining the outside of my vault in preference to weapon traps.  And those tunnels like the ones in front of Vault 13 make a great middle ground:  behind the land mines, in front of the vault, great to engage enemies and stash their decomposing bodies in all the nooks and crannies!

Early on, getting enough ammo to train and use is just plain impossible.  Once you start whacking a ton of supermutant ambushers, though, and getting stacks of 50 bones, it works a lot better.  Oh, and new players should consider forbidding all missile weapons, and only unforbidding the types they want people to use (due to having enough ammo).

I'd be happy if I could just rename "stone fall traps" into "claymore traps".  Land mines have to stay one-shot :(

But if it was a weapon trap component, you can watch the enemy explode if they step on it.


Stone fall traps don't make enemies explode, now do they?

Good point, though they get pretty close sometimes, especially on little things like raccoons!

Also:  My goodness, the Wakizashi is overpowered.  The only thing that balances it out is the fact that no one in their right mind would ever give one to a recruit.  I mean all the weapons are a little bit overpowered, like they should be, but [CRIT_BOOST:4] plus [STICK_CHANCE:0]?  I'm very, very afraid.  The chainsaw is similarly overbalanced.

Blunt weapons like the Super Sledge could really use an absurd damage boost (160+?) to compete.

There's the overly exerted Sniper Rifle.

Shoots enemies about 5 miles away, at the rate of a SMG.

Sadly, there's no real difference between the guns' mechanics that I can see.  Your sniper rifle works the same as a shotgun.  Which is weird, but hey, automatic shotgun.

Uh, as far as I remember wakizashi is not used by common entities... Isn't it? It was planned for yakuza cyberninjas organization which is not in.
I'll look at the chainsaw. I am sure that there shouldn't be "balance" between weapons in terms of metagaming, but there should be similar counterparts in blunt/sword sections to allow a choice. Any suggestions on balance are welcome.

P.S. The only difference I could apply to the shotgun... Shotgun's shells do GORE damage instead of PIERCE. So critical hits won't pierce somebone's body through but will tear it apart instead.

oops, my mistake.  When I was poking through the raws I could have sworn I'd seen the wakizashis available for creation by my civ, but now I'm not so sure, so nevermind that!

I just looked at one of my champions and realized that he is wearing the artifact armor I got--gold and steel power armor--and wielding a CROWBAR.  This game just went somewhere else entirely.
