[39c] Performance issues.

After I generated the world:

I have found a good spot. It's basically a desert, next to the river and high mountains. However, shortly after embarking, the game started to be incredibly slow with no visible cause. There are only seven dwarves, five of which are sitting idle. I tried:

  • checking if nothing else eats up CPU cycles/memory - nope
  • restarting the systemr - nothing changed
  • turning off weather - nothing changed
  • turning off temperature - very slight increase in performance

Errorlog is empty. There's no multiple cancelled jobs. I'm out of ideas what is causing the game to lag so much.

Unit list?

Did you try running reveal, or having someone else run it if you are vehemently opposed to it?  Maybe there's a giant underground waterfall or something.

Does reveal work with 39c? I think I'll give it a try.

The lag here and in the laggy brook save are being caused by the river flow issue in Bloat 334.  I'll tackle the core issue later, but for now I've greatly extended the timer.  In general, low rivers next to very high mountains will have the problem.
