Magma Forge....broken???
« on: July 09, 2008, 11:00:20 pm »

I finally got a magma forge/smelter up and running. I built them side by side with magma 1 z level down at around 4/7 or 5/7 depth.

Now, the smelter works great. The problem with the forge is I queue up a bunch of items, go away for 30 seconds, and they are all gone. The items are not being made or anything so what gives? There are also 0 cancel messages. I've done it a few times but the jobs just continually disappear.

Did you channel the right tile under the forge? Do you have enough materials to make items?
Check the job cancellations as Eatnobles told you.

It might be that the magma height is still fluctuating above and below 4.

I agree with Calenth, if one magmatile does not have the required depth then its very likely this one fluctuates beneath all your forges "turning" them off.

I had the exact same thing happen to me, and it turned out it was the magma depth. I let my channel fill a little more and the problem went away.
