It should actually be "Sporves" and "Spelves".

Once Spore itself comes around, I'll custom-tune it to only have Dwarves, Elves, Humans, Goblins, Kobolds, Elephants, Carp, Giant Eagles, and Giant Spiders, and play in that world trying to raise a civ of tigermen.

I know that once you get to the space age you can... modify things. Which should allow you to fill a planet with DF-themed creatures. Personally, I'm making a penis-themed planet, just for the hell of it. Wait, the plant editor is still in, right?

Create two separate colonies...  Penis-people and vagina-people.  Then help them advance in technology until they are capable of fighting with each other...

Then write a book titled "Penids are from Y-32, Vaginians are from X-12".

That isn't what I meant but it works :D
What I meant was I want to be able to select the creatures that are allowed to appear in my starting world, I doubt you'd be able to do much with it though since all you'd probably do is force the game to generate some of it's own to fill in spaces.

Also does anyone else have the sneaking suspicion that the in game creature editor is going to be slightly different? I mean that it will have the same parts (albeit limited to what you can 'find') but will also have a few different features depending on what stage your in during the creature phase.

Looking at the stuff in the Creature Creator, I believe that you will download most of stuff manually, and you will always see a list of everything that can appear in your game. Hence, sorting through the sporepedia and deleting everything you don't want should yield a list of things that you will find available in your playthroughs.

Well according to one or two of the videos the real game downloads synchronously during play. That or it makes up something on the fly.

Both of those dwarves are mad awesome

I made a goblin, hold on if I can find it...

Edit: OK nevermind it's on my friend's computer and not shared, but trust me, it was awesome and I could totally picture one of those dwarfs clashing with it in battle.

I made a GCS early on; some other people's interpretations look better but I still like mine too.

I find it hard to get gifs of things you want in the editor

Yup. By chance I had it doing the "cower" animation when I captured--wish the interface for capturing was better, a screenshot hotkey would be nice instead of having to click a button. Then I could hit the avatar capture immediately after clicking for an animation...

The avatar capture forces it into a random animation, though, which annoys me massively.

Gadblang it, I keep trying to capture an avatar of my Starship Troopers warrior bug, but the freaking claws are all floppy. Why don't some parts anchor to the creature for goodness sakes?!
