Anyway, downloading now. A word of caution: I can't remember a lot of those intricate plots/story thingumies now. If anyone has any salient points about their character/plot which they wish to remind me of, I suggest you do so now.

It doesn't really matter what the plot was. One of Erin's thingamabobers probably got accidentally activated and now it's spewing out artificial demons, and there is no "real" HFS, everyone's just hallucinating.
It doesn't really matter. Just come up with entertaining nonsense.

Is there any particular reason to not update to 44.10, when we are on our last legs?
If we can, could we intentionally create a tantrum spiral?
The only thing that can destroy Necrothreat IV is Necrothreat IV.

If there iever is a necrothreat V, I might become involved. I wanted to at the start of this, but heaps of RL shit seemed to keep hurling itself at me, and I have yet to bring myself to tackle the behemoth of RP stories that have gone into this thread while the last of the shit is still hurling itself at me. If this does end, a possibility is to just open every door and let everything in, so as to destroy all of the foes by making them apface each other off in an ultimate battle between bears, zombies, Cthuloid abominations, and hat revenge.

Is there anyway we can spawn an actual necrothreader?  Just some lonely nerd to raise hell outside the gates?  I'm rather disappointed we didn't have any undead invasions.

So, what with work, I've only really started now. My apologies. I'll try to get a proper update up soon. Meanwhile, have a prelude-type thing.

Th4DwArfY1 was alone, but that simple fact did not mean that all was still; nor, really, was all silent. Thin trickles of sound ensnared his senses, brought him to alertness and then lowered him to despair. He smelled excrement and lilacs on the still Mountain air.

He was used to all-consuming noise. As a miner he had delved beneath the gnarled roots of the mountain. He knew sound. The crystalline clarity of iron striking gem, the lower rumble of trapped gravel in long-sealed hollows.

“Strike the rock,” he had said, and then he had done just that. The noise had been truly awe-inspiring then, when he and his fellows had hollowed out the halls he now stood in, so jaded. If he concentrated, he could almost remember what companionship was like.

So yes. This Forumite knew sound, but it was the grumbling of the earth which he understood. This had nothing to do with rock or the physical. It was a song. It was a poem. It was a dirge. It was a death march. In one breath it was a lament powerful enough to make Apiks cast off his bony crown and weep, and in the next it was a gentle sigh nurturing growth from within.

It was Lemonpie, Priest of the Bear, singing the song that lay in his heart. Th4DwArfY1’s son.

If truth be told, it was driving Th4DwArfY1 to despair. He would do anything to make it stop.

Anything.

The song hit a crescendo, and he trembled. He had come to his office as an escape, but even here it followed him. His beard – wispy, feminine, delicate as an elf-man’s feckless stubble– was dragged through spilled ale. Th4DwAfY1 groaned at the indignity of it all. He was a woman. The flesh he wore had given birth to Lemonpie.

And now, this flesh would have to end Lemonpie. Th4DwArfY1 started. That had not been his thought, but after a while, he saw its wisdom. He nodded and felt Sprin smile. They were united on this.

The Bear had to die.

It seems to be limping along on it's last legs. Great story though. I've come back to DF, and might have a go if the fort isn't destroyed by Dwarfy1.

How is the fortress' death coming along? It deserves a worthy one. Necroing Necrothreat seems somewhat ironic.
