A massive frigate stocked with food appears in orbit around Earth. The frigate contains enough food to supply an entire planet for months, but only the best items will be chosen for the Emperor's own feast. Much of the food is Earth strains of corn, grain, and fruit, but there are more exotic, genetically modified foods contained within. Among them are mild, blue fruits with a hard shell but a gelatinous interior, juice-fruits containing citrusy juice inside a thick, grapefruit like rind, crunchy white fruits so sweet they taste like candy, car-sized tubers with a strong, bitter and spicy taste and their milder but still bitter leaves, and a few living vines of an engineered plant hardy enough to survive in the vacuum of space for days, which are sprouting starchy potato-like fruits. Also among the food, the Emperor's advisors notice, is some of the Emperor's own martian-grown food.

40 food isn't really that much, but with all the food I have left over, if you try to outbid me I'll just bid even more. You'll just be wasting both of our time and food.
