Packing only the essentials, definitely not because she got drunk and lost half her kit, she's unshakably confident. Either that, or its hard to read nerves on a lizard's face.

Backstory:

Malchus was a bred to battle. Decades long breeding experiments by a crazed civilization wanted to create the best warrior. They wanted to make someone who could compete with vampires, titans, and eventually... those that lurk beneath. Malchus was entered into this tournament to display his skill and to bring others into the fold, to accept this breeding program to make lots of lionfolk heroes. Malchus' self worth is tied directly to his battle prowess, due to his experiment like upbringing. He already had to beat a rival competitor from his own fortress to make it this far... His own best friend, a hyenaman whip wielding madman. It pained him to kill his friend, and yet it showed his value to society and therefore was worth it. It had to be worth it, just as the deaths due to come must be worth it so that more of his kin can be bred for heroic deeds.

Known to his friends as Sweety (his real name is unknown, since his face seems mainly to consist of a gaping round hole of teeth), this agreeable fellow became a good friend to a dwarven fortress when he was found deep in the lower caverns, stuck on a towering demon who nearly broke into the fortress proper, sucking its boiling demon blood and minding his business. When the distracted (and visibly discomforted) demon was struck, the dwarves didn’t know anything better to do with Sweety, now unlatched, than shoving him into some spare armor and enlisting him in the fortress’s Wrestling Squad. Currently lacking any demons or forgotten beasts to throw him on, and to keep Sweety nice and turgid, they decided to submit him to this years tournament. Telling by his increasing drooling and eager snapping of his mouth hole, Sweety seems to enjoy the idea.

Logan the Wolverineman fights to avenge Jean the beautiful sorceress who has been captured by the evil emperor. Logan had been captured by the same evil emperor who had forced to drink a powerful elixir that gave him the ability to regenerate however drove him into a maddening bloodlust and amplified his rage. Logan attempts to fight his way through the brutal gladiatorial ranks and tales of his fearsome prowess and indomintable spirit spread like wild fire, reaching Jean's ears. Her heart clings to the hope that her beloved wolverine, now a slave, still existed within the violent shell he had become.
