i think we should improve our mask.  it will serve us well later, and we will not get in trouble with the blighted glass if we fail. Besides, what is 10-20 years required to perfect our form in the face of 150?  it won't cost sloan that much anyways.  whether or not this plan is decided upon, we should make a mental list of all the parts required to do this plan, anyways.

I support investigating the feasibility of all three suggested ideas: building/repairing a ship, stealing a ship, and improving our second mask to replicate a sufficiently functional ship. We can investigate by asking our Herald for information and directions (and accepting any material aid it can provide), and also by carefully exploring this craft ourselves.

Also, I do have a question for The Blighted Glass: "Do I have access to the knowledge of the alien civilizations that we destroyed?"

Searching for a nonintegrated ship in this place might be our best bet, it might not be 100% working but with a little info we might be able to fix it, no matter the condition it'll be better than starting from scratch.

Very well. I will be leaving soon. Do I have access to the knowledge of the alien civilizations that we destroyed?

You are using it. What we have retained. The Empyror stole the rest. She turns, beginning to fade away into Dust -- Goodbye, my Child. Greet your siblings for me.

Basil frowns, then shrugs at her departure, at her words, heading back towards his room within the Palace. He pings the Herald for the next question on the list and there is no response. No matter.

Theoretically, I could create a very small vessel within the day. My only limiting factor is what I believe is called a cryopod. Basil lifts the edge of his toga, striding through the ruined gardens of his Palace, over the moss and across the ivy. He pauses to admire the stonework--

And then he pings the Herald again.

And again.

There is no response.

His systems freeze, his processes screaming out of control as what the Blighted Glass said to him sinks in.

Don't panic. Prepare yourself for battle.

Be prepared, but - hm. The Blighted Glass didn't seem to say she would attack us if we left. I just assumed the Herald's help was part of her blessing and thus locked away from us now.

Either way, don't panic.

That seems possible. Perhaps I misinterpreted her suggestion to greet our siblings.

OH. Hm. Our siblings aren't around, right? They have their own Empyreal targets to strike at, or so I thought. I interpreted that as her pointing out that the next time we met them they would probably be hostile.
We'll find out in about a few seconds, so my speculation isn't really needed.

Calm yourself, perhaps by focusing on the rhythmic breathing of your Mask.
Situational awareness. Can you detect any nearby movements or Plague activity, through your dust or normal senses? Where is it closest? What nearby routes are you familiar with? How far away is Sloan?

[|]
They do not hide their intentions towards him. Creeping Tendrils of willpower inch their way through the networks of the Blighted Glass. Like a tongue probing at a rotten tooth, hesitating as they drift towards Basil. A few reach the edge of Basil's Will field, and recoil at the touch. Voices begin to echo through the Child's palace. Half-whispers voice their hungry interest --

Apologies. You are right. The Child takes a breath.

[|]
[|]
[|]
--Then Basil is moving. The panic clears, and his divine conscious begins to multi-task as requested. Scanning his Palace, he searches for those invasive Wills, trying to get a fix on origins and strength. He can't get anymore information from the maelstrom of data, unable to find out where the nearest movement is coming from. It feels like a noose, closing in around his neck, tightening and tightening. While his attention searches, his body slips the Fourth mask on. With clarity, he drops to all fours to lengthen his stride and increase his physical speed. He runs to the living quarters.

The ship is always changing and I have not left my Palace since my birth. I know where an opening into the rest of it is, though.

Sloan yelps and jumps to her feet when Basil bursts through the doorframe.

I assume that our siblings are indeed hunting us. Can Sloan help, or would she just be a tasty snack for them?

A snack is an overstatement. Basil grabs Sloan with a vine, swinging her onto his back and securing her to him with it.

"Basil, what the fuck is goin' on?!" She raises her voice. Basil can sense the cortisol pumping through her veins, the adrenaline that is starting to drip into her system. She doesn't feel the hunger that reaches through the ivy walls, that begins to search for the mutant child. She doesn't feel the gnawing dread from that pack predators seeking their next feast.

Basil does.

"We are under attack from my siblings as my mother is no longer extending her protection to me."
Say that while locating and heading towards the best Palace exit - also, Basil, are there any supplies we should grab quickly? Though we probably don't have time.

Though I am assuming it would be better for us to be navigating around the ship and possibly able to evade some of our siblings rather than be sieged in here and have them all collect here.
On the other hand the Palace and Grounds are our territory and we have some semblance of control over them, I don't know how much that will help us against a sustained assault though.
