The "small" trait is a risky game to play. 


...actually, your setup doesn't work at all.  You have "modernized" which specifically excludes "small" size nations (because it doesn't actually give them any benefit.  Perhaps you should give up one of your other traits to become normal sized and pick up 24 and 28?  Or drop from "modernized" to "heavily industrialized" and have two trait points to play with?

It doesn't actually. Just be "Small", a bite-sized morsel among giants. (IE, going to lose. There isn't enough space to play the small game.)

The current rules mean that only Small can be chosen, since Normal needs them all adjacent to the capital. In this game, size matters far more than long-term planning.

Based on small my old area was also in violation, as they need to be ALL adjacent to one another. So doubt it's a typo.
