For many of you, this is your first time seeing Ianus Geminus, the universe’s most prestigious magical university, in person. It lies within the main city of Arkeao, onboard the retrofitted colony ship known simply as Babylon II, circling the outer sectors of colonized space for what most people speculate is “tax reasons.” Everything from its staff to its grounds to its history can all be summed up as opulently insane, and while the virtual tours certainly gave the school a grandiose feeling, seeing the gate and its intricately engraved double doors for yourselves has really let it sink in.

The legacies stand out, breaking away from the group, while the rest of you follow the tour guide, who meekly points out some of the school’s amenities, but she makes an explicit point to be wary of the apiaries set up every few meters, as well as the multivariate flowers that surround them. You see a couple of plantadins using some magic to restore a group of sunflowers.

Ianus Geminus’ headmistress, makes it a point of pride to greet each new shuttle of students, and there is no exception today. She stands towering over the guide, as well as several of you, with golden honey locks coiling at her neck. The headmistress moves towards you in quick rhythmic steps wearing robes of deep lavender as a few bees float around her, and you feel a buzz of power emanate off of her.

“Welcome, new students," she gestures invitingly, causing several bees to exchange positions on the entomancer. “Let’s take a walk.” Your tour guide waves a swift goodbye and you begin to follow the entomancer.

She brings you to a small gymnasium within one of the buildings. Several students sit on some bleachers, cheering as you file in. She says a few things, amplifying her voice, but even you have trouble hearing the introductions she makes for you.

“Are you all ready?” is the last phrase you hear.

A burst of white mist explodes from the entomancer, and she disappears.. Your mind starts to get a little sluggish, but you begin to hear a single whisper.

“Can you win the game and prove you deserve to be at Ianus Geminus? Simply find those that oppose you through magical means or diplomacy.”

As the fog lifts, you see the 14 of you standing in a cir-. Wait. Weren’t there only 13 of you just a second ago? Who’s this new guy, Fakerag?

It is now Day.
