Any way to regulate who joins a guild?
« on: September 03, 2020, 06:54:07 am »

Early on in my fort I threw a bunch of my idlers into plant harvesting and farming so now I've got a farming guild and even though the dwarves no longer have those labors enabled...they still join the demonstrations and are spending all of their time in the guild.

Is there any way to get them to focus on specializing their main skills instead of sitting around for demonstrations they will never use?

I suspect not, but if you have the default setting of only guild members being welcome and you manage to get them trained up and joining another guild I think they'll switch guilds. Note that I'm not sure that dorfs can't be members of multiple guilds simultaneously.

You can also simply deassign that guild from its zone.

They may petition for a guildhall again in the future, and when that happens you can just reassign the old guildhall and remove it again immediately with no ill effects (and a happy thought for the guildmembers).

I play as dorf and I am only in 1 quild now, but you say about few ones, I will try to become a member of 2 or more guilds and tell you after)

That sounds like adventure mode, and the rules are not always the same in the two modes. However, I would expect adventure mode players to be interested in the results.
