10) I will be using QSPs for my first time. I don't suppose you can put a stockpile on a trapdoor(retractable bridge)? I want to gather things at one z-level and drop them down a few stories.

No, you'll have to use the a dump zone. You can have a mine cart dump its contents onto the bridge, but you'll then have to manually forbid the items, or they'll be collected and hauled to stockpiles (which may result in hauling to the mine cart feeder stockpile, dumping, hauling back to the stockpile... as happens with booze barrels and full wheelbarrows).

DFHack allows you to control track stops manually, so you could load the mine cart normally and have the track stop set to not dump, then set it to dump, forbid the dumped items, and reset the track stop to non dumping. Repeat until your pile is large enough.

And I assume Starver haven't heard about sock puppets...  :P

I always get a migraine when operating sock puppets. It's probably something to do with having to stand on my head for the duration...

You can avoid forbidding the items if your dwarves can't access them. Put the retracting bridge or trapdoor one level lower, and add a locked door to the side for emergency access.

You can hook up a lever to a track stop to disable dumping without needing DFHack.

Reading his name would trigger it. Thinking of him would trigger it. No other circumstances would trigger it- it was strictly related to the concept of Bill Clinton entering the conscious mind.

So you can minecart to a hole, below the hole is an inaccessible trapdoor. I pull a lever and the contents go down the whitechute (what an aweful autocorrect!)
