the big clue to me was that it was religious and dealt with souls but that there was NO debate about its existence.

Having said that, which specific depiction? um... again, with the no debate about its existance, I think I have to do with the least religious of its depictions I can think of so... The Reaper?

Ah, I wasn't clear. There's no debate about death as a concept.

This specific depiction is believed by few.

And not the grim reaper.
