Anyone else having issues with the Mantis bug-tracker?
« on: March 14, 2020, 11:27:24 pm »

I can't, for the life of me, get the bug tracker to narrow down any of the fields. Filters, searching, even clicking the categories are all resulting in the same thing: view all reports. Very specifically, no matter what I click, I get sent to "http://www.bay12games.com/dwarves/mantisbt/view_all_bug_page.php". Is this an issue with my browser or is this something others are experiencing?

I'm looking for a bug that I am sure others are running into to see if there any information about a work-around...

Yeah, mine doesn't work at all on my phone (Android, Chrome). It's exactly as you say.
But trying again on the PC (Windows 10, Chrome also) works just fine.

Pretty sure I used to be able to use it.

It's working for me - I searched for 'conversationalist' and it only returned 5 issues. On tablet and PC. On 3 different browsers on android tablet.

PC isn't working for me at all - Firefox, I'll check if I have explorer installed and try that too. I'll mess around and see if I can help this situation.

Phone works (Chrome and Baidu browsers).

Edit: found the bugs I was looking for. One is totally my fault, the other is unavoidable.

I cleared the browser cache on my phone. Mantis searches OK now.

On Firefox/Linux the only category I can select is General. The only other choice is the [any]. That's after a cache clear.

Searches very rarely work for me on Windows/Firefox (and never have). There seems to be some narrowing in the number of "matches" but most of those don't seem to have the search term in them at all, while failing to locate the bug reports I know should be there as I've seen them in the past.

IE worked fine, but firefox didn't work even after clearing the cache.  Seems there's some bugs with the bug tracker...

Huh, and today I find myself logged out and unable to login on my phone at all. That's annoying.
PC still works.

Somewhat unrelated but DFFD's search also was lacking when I looked for 'PDF' - looking for Bearskie's backups of community threads. It just seemingly ignore the keyword and returned nothing.

I had to clear my cache on Chrome and now I can only select General and [any] there as well. Logged out, the same. Logged back in, the same. Seems to be the only drop down menu that's missing items. Searching for words seems to be working as expected.

'PDF'

a lot of website search thingies ignore search terms of three-letters or less (i guess to filter out words like "the", etc), so in this specific case it might be due to something like that

Ok, so here's the thing about mantis, or at the least, the 10 year old version that the DF bugtracker uses: Apparently it shares the same search among all guest users. Your search is failing because someone else somewhere else is also doing a search, but completely different from yours. If you log in and do a search, you will find that the UI is cumbersome, but your searches will work normally.

Mine is broken again (on Chrome on my phone only, PC Chrome works fine). Any search comes up with the exact same results (looks like almost the same list it was producing when it stopped working a few weeks ago). Clearing my cache didn't work this time.
