Have decided 4 is my max. Dungeon Crisis, Blood of Heroes, Monster Hunter, and now this. Will just update the four until players want a ending ( though this, Blood, and MH do have definite endings.)

This one is a case of you being the bad guy. Not as a evil
Overlord, planet eating monster, or the sort. Here your just a promising mage trainee who stumbles upon stuff they should not use. But do do anyway and caught in a web of trouble. A spiraling path of love, distrust, ambition and conflicting views.


First: Name and gender. You are 18-20 here.

2: Set up of community.

Home: Rural community, county seat, metropolis.

Family: How big your family? Small, normal, large, or huge.

Status: How well off/ powerful they are. Affects your family resources and jobs. ( Relationships are rolled.)

Your job: Pick a job. Decides resources, access, skills, and friends/etc.

Guard: You are a cop basically

Hunter: You got out of town to hunt the big game.

Exterminator: You kill rats, vermin, and low tier monsters on a daily basis.

Smith Aid: You help the black smith. Naturally toughens, strengthens you, and stuff.

Assistant Healer: Aid in the healing clinic(s)

Courier: Get to leave town to deliver messages and stuff.

Lumber Jack: You leave like a hunter, only to tear down trees for their parts.

Butcher: Handy with a blade, anatomy lessons, know how to prep meat and makes you deadly with a knife. As you have sliced flesh, bone and sometimes with fancy tricks of refrigeration magic, frozen meat. Which is basically rock.

Builder: Know materials, their worth. Labor skills and work.

Farmer aid: Hard work. Outside city, freedom after shift.

Scribe: You study, record and such for a living.

Chemist: Work chemicals to aid in daily living.

Note: Technlevel here is high end Middle Ages with a tie in steam punk.

Your job decides a lot of things.


Stats: You do not get to pick, rather are more like bars or currency for actions.

HP: Your endurance and over all health. At 0 your knocked out. If left at zero and found will be able to heal naturally. If reduced to negative 20 or do your dead/destroyed.

LP: Life points. How much life you have in n reality, decides your healing rate and how long you actually live in a life span. Not a battle field thing though things can reduce, if this is zero, your dead. Not even if hp is not zero.

MP: Magic points. What powers your spells. There are ways to restore it.

Action Points: AP. This decides how many actions you get a day and do stuff. LAp decides how fast it’s restored with rest. ( Note LP cannot he dumped and you start with it maxed out. It cannot be bought out, but every other stat can upgrade fully.)


Magic Teacher: You are a legit student of magic. Below is what kind.

Wizard: D and D, not Potter here.
Druid: Draw element powers.
War Mage: Fighter with magic power.
Rune Master:  Knowledge to write out words of power.
Cleric: Holt/Church sponsored stuff.
Shaman: Talk to nature spirits for boobs. ( Border pine banned.)
Illusionist: Make illusions.



Forbidden Powers: List of all the forbidden powers and what they do. During the great magic wars they caused untold death and destruction, hence their banning.

1: Necromancy: Powers ic life and death.

2: Primal: Create or alter life to be monster servants for you.

3: Golemancy: Make, alter, and control golems.

4: Dracomancer: Using the powers of freak men dragons.

5: Mechanomancy: Like above but all forbidden magic technology.

6: Esper: Channeling pact powers of humans who evolved into magic beings themselves.

7: Time; That is a no no.

8: Demonology: Commanding hell and it’s dark denizens.

9: Blood Magic: Magic fueled by and controlling blood.

10: Wild Magic: Allowing living magic to be invited into your head, it breaks reality.

11: Channeling: No not summoning Hell or whatever else and not as extreme as Wild Magic, but your channeling external magic for free no cost spells. This kills the environment.

12: Chaos: Inviting In evil beings from the abyss who wish to break the rules and cause havoc. Have fun with mutations.


13: Alchemy: The whole transmutations thing is banned from Wizards to use and its uses threaten society.

14: Alienist: The alienist movement found knowledge of the Old Ones. These old ones gave them power, but their agenda was unknown. This is the Lovecraft option.


15: Psionics: Tapping into powers of no mp range, causes insanity, and has its own branches.

16: Truth: The one true God magic, tapping into this unknown being, who is really unhappy about his works right now.


Forbidden items: Items that channel these forbidden powers. You get up to 4. Only 4. And each is either same field or different. Player taste here. Start at 1.

Dagger: Close combat themed spells.

Sword: Better to fight with, support/team work spells. Buff and rebuff bonus.

Staff: To channel spells for long range pain.

Armor: Self buff and defense.

Tome: This is just a big ass. Book of spells. Bonus here is learning sad forbidden type really fast if study.

Altar: No new spell abilities, f make offerings get bonus to stats or empower per existing spell. Bigger the price, bigger the boon.

Ring: Lord if the rings joke. Will power save, fail and a mind controlled servant.

Gauntlet:Thanos snap jokes aside get to access random spells a day if equipped.

Familiar: A living servant who acts, does stuff, mentors spells. Has their own mind though so not your ally, takes form based on magic type.

Talisman: Fancy necklace that is a mobile altar, if kill things with a soul you get to nom on soul for no boost.

Mask: Transformation spells.

Tattoos: Self boost spells and healing spells by theme.

So yeah name, age, gender

Family size, town, job, magic teacher.

Lastly One Forbidden power and it’s item. Will do back story for last two, job dedicates stats, teacher starting spells, and will roll random for people of interest.

Stats: This is to reflect on your life style.
Action Points: 14. You have a important job to report to and used to being on the go.
HP: Given you are so exposed to disease in treating the sick and sight of injury. Say 30 hp.
Life Points: 20. The max is 20. Embrace it, love it. Do not abuse it.

City: Luberug: A large city out I. The woods of Scottslibe. Big town, nearly a city. Population in thousands, three main roads. Even a sewer system and smaller community on the edge. Near mountain with mines.

Job: Treating sick peoples. Along with injuries workers.

Skills: You know the human anatomy. So you can kill people really easily if you wanted to with right tool and element of surprise. Know medicines, how to treat injuries. Know how to tell if someone is sick and done chemistry/brewing. Hell some medicine is poison so know hand at that and tolerance to it. All jobs have perks, these are yours.

Con: Your job is high in demand. Even though your family could afford you not to work, community needs you.

Family: Bith parents alive, three grand parents alive, slew of cousins and first cousins. Each side has aunts, father has uncle. You are among five children. The middle child as you have older brother and sister. Younger brother and sister. Will do relationships latter.

Mom: Is actually your boss as she runs the clinic.

Dad: Is a god damned inquisitor or the law/office hinder for old world police. Your dad is pretty much Commissioner Gordon. Just more prone to torture the bad guys. Given this game, it will get interesting.

Friends/etc: To be decided in intro post with family relations and etc.

Psionic Mask: It is blank and featureless like Slender Man face. Got it as a prank grab from a clients house on a house visit. When it’s on, the mask morphs based on your mental health, can tell via  mirror. It’s spells?

1: You See Nothing: Only works on things seeing and with brains, tricks subjects brain into thinking nothing is there. Meaning your invisible to selected target.

2: Embrace the Is: Transform into a shape based on thoughts and ego. Holds many different ways to interpret that. Can cause sanity damage though.

3: Reflect the Soul: Wearing it, costs no more. Whoever sees it gets a reflection of their state of mind. Someone with a darkn secret to hide will see a monstrous horror monster mask, a innocent it’s true blank form, a kind person a pleasant face, someone mad would see really f-Ed up stuff and so forth. A sanity checker mask.

Cleric:

Your Cleric Mentor is Rine Priest Robert McCrag. A northern and Viking pastiche. However not shoving his own believes down your throat rather how to worship proper to channel God of your choosing.

Options:

1: Frigga: Plant growth, Strength, Earth, Life, and Birds.


2: Rakurm: Fire, Metal, Crafts, Art, and Truth.

3: Thalia: Water, Beauty, Life, Emotion, and Speed.

4: Wolf Father: Roberts own north God. Ice, Wind, Wolves, War, and Travel.

Pick God and will launch cleric Magic’s plus the four things you start off with anyway.

Sorry for taking so long, things happen. Now then Cleric Thalia spells and family results. After family results will have the main plot out.

Starting Cleric Spells:
Cleric ability:
Healing touch: Touch and heal someone.
Turn Undead; Scare undead away.
purify: Makes water/food safe to consume


1: Holy Water; Make water holy so it hurts extra evil things.
2: Burst of Speed; TO get around town, use to speed up travel speed, can even run on water and up surfaces for a scene or two, but afterwards need to take a breather before acting.
3: Splendor: Make item or touched person gorgeous for a day.
4: Growth: make plant life appear, given job can literally make medicine this way. (Falls under life.)
5: Reveal the Feeling; If target fails save, must reveal their hidden agenda/thoughts/feelings on a matter. Happens only if hiding something.

To get more spells; Practice with mentor, study books from library, practice on your own. Cleric wise think and devote which path of Thalia you wish. With Forbidden magic it is trial and error. The Book Item makes it easiest. Familiars can be teachers too but it's dangerous in being caught and they are odd in teaching methods. (Given each item of 4 can get is a different field though, good luck. Your Psionic mask, is trial and error. No instructions.)

Psionic Branches:
Telepathy: You have due to Invisible trick. Can learn more if focus.
Biomancy: Its how you cna transform, leanr more on your own time.

Rest; Unlock and deep focus.
Psychokinesis:
Portation:
The Sight:
Creation:
Pyromancy (Covers other energy too)
Theomancy: THe hardest but mightiest to use.



Family notes: 1 father, 1 mother, three grand parents, a uncle, three aunts, numerous cousins, three brothers, two sisters.

Grand Parents:

Grandpa: Richard Mason: Helped build the town, literally. Not just funding and efforts but helped build many of the important buildings. During the great magic war was the mayor and allowed the winning side of the time to stay in there. He loves all hsi grand children the most (Including you) And his two sons, not so much. Does not live with your parietal grandma, they separated but still see each other regularly.

Grandma 1: Luciana Mason: Your father's mother. Said to be a great seer and against authority. During the war was a asset to the effort, now though hates the local governments. She "knows." But, not saying anything because she loves you, but as long your not hurting anyone, its fine. For now. note her power is divination, not the sight.


Grandma 2: Gilda Dixen: Mote'rs mother. A house wife and raised your cousins on that side of the family. Her husband, your mother's father has died recently. She is good at advice and keeping things balance,d her heart is heavy. She is also deeply religious to the extreme and does not accept diverting from the Church.

Father and Mother:

Father: Charles Mason: inquisitor of the city. The big law, the guy who can legally torture people and take their heretic stuff. In reality has a collection of banned goods and sells it for the price (How he afforded your home and things.) No one really knows this secret yet. Is cold with the kids. A place you could get forbidden relics and if law persists, who knows/ Influence your dad to influence the law? Only affects his borders though, which is the town and county. If national authority involved, no more strings to pull.


Mother: Linda Mason; Owns the clinic that you work and is your boss. Tries to be best of friends with her children. Loves them all, sees you working to try to get you out of the house, is not that strict a parent though so have lee away with duties at times. Recently with a plague though, your stuck with job as the priority.

Their Siblings/cousins:

Uncle: Charles Mason: Your father's brother. A school teacher, a social climber and tries to put airs of superiority. has only two girls. Who which are snots.


Aunt 1: Emily Dixen: Is a courier, deliver smail around town and sometimes out of town, a cheerful woman who has a son. He works as a exterminator for the city at the moment.


Aunt 2: Stella Dixen: Has two children, a poor boy with mind damage and a daughter who works with you at the clinic.

Aunt 3: Gloria Mason: Has had two marriages, both miserable, no children She runs a grocery store in the area.



Your siblings:

Oldest Brother: Duncan: Big brother. He is strong, loyal and caring. He is a cool dude and everyone loves him, he treats all of you with respect and love as well.

Middle Brother: Isaac: He is a mage in training who works as a scribe, a real book worm yet a clown about it. In a friendly rivalry with you with spell casting.

Youngest Brother: Desmond: Baby brother, just in school right now and has a thing for animals, has many pets and has seen the mask. Knows nothing of it and has not told a soul as a secret pact with you. Adores you, he has innate talent too.

Younger sister 1: Charlotte:  A struggling artist who has left home, she does paint jobs and tattoos. The odd ball of the group and most hostile. Seemingly bitter that she refused her parents offers and stuck on her own.


Younger sister 2: Kylie: She is the youngest, a mere baby. Knows nothing of the harsh world she has come into, you sometimes baby sit her. Sometimes Duncan or Isaac. Either way the family mascot/heart.

It was a brand new day as the rooster yells. The day was great weather and all, sadly today was going to be a work day. As Dad's servants were busy making breakfast, a new illness was ravaging the land and Alyssa had to work in dealing with it. As she got up it was apparent she was  a beautiful young woman. Blue eye,s healthy skin glow, and long hair akin to the night as she got dressed and went down. Kylie was waking up to crying though Isaac picks her up and got her to laugh. Breakfast was most divine this morning.

Father was at his seat as Duncan came in, tired from night shift, pets Alysa on the head and goes off to sleep in his quarters. Mother was already at clinic and he spoke up.

Father: Good Morning Alyssa, I hope you slept well. Due to this medical crisis your to be at the clinic today and tomorrow. After which time going to scheudle your cleric training some more. Remember to  stay clean girl. *He was always a bossy asshole. Aside spells and stuff one could learn other skills on the fly.*

Before leaving in her uniform, Alyssa Mason took the blank mask, so no one would find it, she got it from a house call and kept it safe. Demsond was in the garden chasing toads and such. The disease doe snot affect the young apparently.

16/16 ap (4 ap spent on Clinic so instead of 20 it's 16.)

6/6 MP (Cost 1 mp for starter spells.)

Aside Clinic duties where else would you like to go or do today? It costs 2 AP or 0 AP to travel with Speed boost, though that takes 1 MP instead.

During the following day you were forced to be at the healing center, applying cleric magic to mend injury, repel disease and poison. Along the way making potions and other balms to give out to your patients. For those who loved to help people, it was rewarding. However you were forced into this profession and you saw it routine and dull.

After the duties and time went by you were allowed to leave. So you went out to the land, full of woods and farm land. During your trip you encounter Roy Kender, a guard trainee and friend of your oldest brother.

“ So Alyssa, your out here? The weather is nice.” The red head spoke, as he approached. “ You know, I heard you asked your brother for lessons and he refused, I would not.”

Alyssa:Thank you Roy, for now I wanted to extend my cleric abilities before my next lessons, maybe you could wait for me? If still interested?

Roy: Sure, I help out old man Charles at the Barfield farm. Lots of work, builds up the body. Have fun, I guess

: Alyssa was happy he was gone, wanted to be alone in case trying to figure out the mask, was honest about cleric lessons though. She walked out to lake Wallace, biggest body of water around and sometimes fishing spot. Sat down next to it and sat on dry earth. She began to focus.

Rolled: 14 in success ( need a 7 for 1, so 2 spells.)
Category: Speed, twice. ( So two more speed stuff.)

Knowledge of the path: Fast travel speed. Can go anywhere up to three days travel in moments as you know the place by heart.

Haste: Slow motion movement as everything slows down, you move that much more faster to others and double actions in scenes including combat, although this tired you out as you stuck doing nothing for a turn when it’s over.

Got a image from the lake of the great Thalia emerging towards you. She had wacky water hair, growths as a dress of plant life and halo around feet of fish life, upon her finger touching your head. Get flash’s of how to move faster and map things out mentally. Afterwards it’s over. Woken up from focus can now do more.

12/16 action points left. Can study new skills,
Go back to town for side quest
Go back to town to bother the family
Stay there, fiddle with the mask
Go to the farm bother Roy for sword lessons
Go to Barfield farm anyway for body training or even mask training on animals or workers ( evil)
Go bother your mentor as he is outside of town
Use fast travel to go to Dillion the next town over as you know map knowledge now to do it.
