We will create a graduated inverse consumption tax, where those with nothing receive something and those with something receive nothing, and are also taxes, but can also negotiate not to be taxed if they ask nicely.

We need a comprehensive tax plan so I propose separating out our population into five evenly spaced income brackets starting at 50,000 a year and ending at fish. Each bracket should be taxed at a higher rate than the previous bracket ensuring that the people earning the least receive less of the tax burden and people earning fish receive more. Industries should be taxed heavily, with high punitive taxes for negative environmental impacts but generous tax breaks for assisting in war efforts. The industries that attach tech to sticks shall be well rewarded. Ideally the tax code should be so labyrinthine and complex that being in violation of them is unavoidable. This will enable us to make up any deficits by issuing fines when we need to. Additionally unhealthy addictive substances should be taxed as a measure to discourage their use. These substances include but are not limited to; alcohol, nicotine, opioids and water. There should however be no tax on sales. This will help encourage the economy. Tax breaks will be offered to people signed up for military service and their families.

This plan has a certain elegant simplicity that goes well with the precedent set by Tech on a Stick.

It does seem to be the more effective option.

I want this one just because of how much Jerick hates fishermen, fishermongers, fishwives, and all their ilk.
