Just so y’all know, I’m currently out of town, which is why there hasn’t been an update recently. Will probably be able to get one out tonight or tomorrow.

I've already had to rewrite this turn once, so I'll just abbreviate it. I'll be skipping some non-essential posts.

When the room is searched more carefully, the object turns out to be some sort of man-sized beehive. However, upon closer inspection, you find legs sticking out. With a pang, you realize that the shape is actually a human corpse with a man-sized beehive shaped growth subsuming most of it.

Frank determines that though the plastic card is about the right shape, it doesn't really do anything with the slot.

Ares manages to bypass the security system. As far as Data goes, there's not much useful info, mostly just undecipherable schedules and maintenance logs. However, he is able to bypass the key lock, which causes a small hatch, about the size of a hand, to open on the console. In the hatch, there is a device plugged into the console. The device looks more or less like a large metal flash drive. From the data on the console, Ares figures out that the device is referred to as a "Gate-Key". The gate-key contains the data necessary to do... whatever it is the facility does. The Console is ready to be activated it. The Gate-key can be removed, but if it is, the console won't be able to activate.

Around Ares and Frank, the room is filled with buzzes and hums as the machinery comes to life, ready to be called upon.

Back around the beehive thing.

As the party approaches, there is a sickening scratching/scraping sound, then the beehive starts to contort. Moments later, it burst open, and a number of wasp-like creatures, each about the size of a hand, swarm the room.

Burt (6) Manages to hit the floor before the swarm sweeps out.

Nora (9+1=*9*) Manages to chop two of them as the rush towards her.

Arp (8) Manages to flee the room ahead of the swarm

Alice (4) Gets stung in the stomach. The pain is so intense, she doubles over and curls up on the floor.

Thag (8+4=*9* Melee) Lets aout a primal screech, and starts swating at anything heading out the door. He splatters 5 wasps before they catch on and stop trying to leave the room. (2+2=4 defense) However, one wasp does manage to fly under his assault, and sting him on the leg. He falls to his knees from pain.

All in all, there are about a dozen wasps buzzing around the room.

Try to be sneaky.  Don't attack the wasps unless one is going to attack me.  Play deadish until the pain diminishes.  If a wasp tries to attack me, try to club it first.

Description: A girl in her thirties with immaculate blonde curly hair. Wears frilly dresses and always carries an expensive-and-fragile-looking umbrella with a spiral pattern, despite spending most of her time underground.
Backstory: Lead a privileged life as a bureaucrat (a job her parents got her) before being assigned to this expedition. Though many saw being assigned to this expedition as punishment, she sees it as no different than any other assignment. Believes in her greatness and the greatness of humanity. Friendly and polite but distant. She feels no need to prove herself or show off despite how much she owes to her parents, but will try to ensure that whoever challenges her will think twice before doing so again.
Special ability: You can now alter yourself in the same capacity as the parasites, but each time you do you risk damaging your mind.

Silently thanking his cautious nature that had led him to purchase such protective equipment, Frank runs into the room to perform rescue operations. Seeing as Thag is either unconscious or very close to death, and near the door, Frank prioritizes dragging him out first. If time permits, he runs over to Alice and starts to drag her out as well.

Description: Looks extremely average as far as humans go. Medium length dirty-blonde hair. A little shorter than six feet. Has a fancy mustache that he likes to twirl when getting excited about machines.
Backstory: Frank grew up in Nede, and has only rarely seen the surface before, never for extended periods of time. Due to his natural proclivity of working with machines, he quickly joined the Tinker guild, and was just as quickly assigned to this mission by the guild. Equal parts earnest and practical, he decided that to ensure his survival on this mission he would buy a full body hardsuit so he didn't croak before finding cool old-world relics.

Name: Crass Beakerton
Race and Profession: Special Human (Spectral Aspect) Doctor
Description: A pale man in a stained, unwashed doctor's coat. A brass plate has been hammered into his face, covering the entire right side and the entirety of his jaw. A metal hinge connects to a swiveling mouthguard with a built-in air filter that is kept in place a leather belt and buckle. Crass carries around a large satchel with bright red stitches were ever he goes, the handle of his baton peaking out from the edge of the bag.
Backstory: Born a slum rat, Crass joined up with a small splinter group that was apart of one of the larger gangs Nede, acting as an errand boy and dealer for some of the more low-level drugs. But the group leader took an interest in young Crass, and when she saw his steady hands, quick wit, and his skill with a needle and thread, she knew Crass could do more than just a dealer. A loan from the bank and the upper echelon was barely enough to cover the cost of sending young Crass off to apprentice at one of the local medical guilds. Crass returned home with hope and pride in his eyes, hope, and pride that was snuffed out the second he took a step into his old home in the same moment a bomb planted by a rival gang went off. He came to in the hospital, finding out that most of his face was burnt off by the explosion and was stuck with a bill. Worse, a statement form the bank came and apparently as the sole survivor of the attack, his Guardian's debts was being transferred to him, including the ones to the the Syndicate. Stuck paying off a multitude of debts, Crass has grown to be choleric fellow, one who has as many cares to give as he does dollars to spend.

    Description:A vaguely humanoid, orange robot with a single red eye and a utilitarian design.
    Backstory:Originally a repair drone, "Arp" eventually attained sentience after being given a vague order to "Clean up the mess" after an office party just before the apocalypse. Those who gave the order are long dead, but Arp cannot ignore the order. Now that the office has finally collapsed from age and decay, Arp has wandered out into the shattered world on an almost certainly hopeless quest to finish "cleaning up the mess."
