The strange flying beast is shaking as it descends from the Great Black Sea and you pray to the Ancestors that it does not buck and throw you and your clansmen off like so many fleas on a great mouflon. Indecisively you alternate between grasping the boomstick between your legs and the restraints which keep you in place upon this accursed thing, but neither offers much comfort in the face of the shaking and the vibrations. Your clansmen look as distraught and sickly as you feel. Some pray to the ancestors, others, like you, fiddle with their boomsticks or restraints and some are concentrating on not emptying their secondary stomachs.

"T-Minus one minute till drop, get ready Maggots." With a glare you look at the skinny little sack of meat standing next to your seat utterly non-chalantly. If he weren't of the skymasters, you would have caved in his puny head in. But he is and you are a mere chieftain. The dark green clothing, the black gloves and the absurd boomstick, together with his lightningstick, mark him out as a handler...a commissar. The word feels strange in your head, as do so many concepts of the skymasters. Still it means he has authority over your life and your death and that of your clansmen and worse even over your families on the steel whale in the Great Black Sea. "You should talk to them." You are shocked out of your revery at the lowered voice of the commissar. "If you want them to survive that is." Honest advice from a skymaster? Inconcievable...and yet he is right. You are their chieftain and you are leading them to battle.

When they told you what you and your warriors had to do, you knew it for the deadly task it was, once the flying beast would land it would be a slaughter, not a battle, but a slaughter. And for the first time you realize that the skymaster next to you was in as much danger as you and your men were. This one either was courageous or had displeased someone very much.

Looking amongst the motley ranks of your warriors you finally decide to:

A: Silently straighten yourself and exude as much confidence as you can. Death is inevitable and a True Warrior faces it with Dignity and Composure.

B: Raise their Bloodlust. You would not go like mouflon to slaughter but rather like rabid Neirs tear everything around you apart

C: The Ancestors have protected us so far and as we meet certain death we shall do so having properly prayed to them and with their favour and protection we shall all perservere

D: Use the power of your position and your ritual Ke to carve runes of precision into the boomsticks, ensuring that they will always hit, use woad to paint protective runes on your warriors and give away a few of your charms and fetishes to those most needful of them

E: The Battle Chants of your people will raise the hearts of your warriors and strike fear into the enemy, each and everyone of you will die with songs on their lips and and smiles on their faces, for their afterlifes are guaranteed.

F: Speak to them about Duty. You are doing this, so your families, your people, your very species can survive. To win the favour of the skymasters you are willing to pay any price. For their favour is worth even more than that of the Ancestors or even the Gods.

G: Engage in the Ritual of Association. You are not a chieftain, you are a PRINCE! And a prince does not associate with lowly warriors. They are serving you, but you can freely associate with the skymaster. And by being associated with a powerful skymaster you show the warriors that you are invicible. And if you are so are they, for they are no more than extensions of your will as it should be and as it has always been.

H: The skymasters are not worthy nor understanding of association. Instead do the unthinkable and associate with your warriors. This will put them on the same level as you and will certainly tighten the bonds between you

Do none of these things. Your warriors are fine as is.

((choose any combination of the above, only same colored options can be chosen so you can't have red and purple for example))

You notice the incredulous look on the face of the commissar as you begin painting your men in the sacred Red Woad. The skymaster have a low regard for the proper incantations, the fetishes and rituals, the hexes and spells a chieftain needs to learn. In time he will understand. The towering warriors looking too big in the restraints holding them in place are typicial of your kind, broad, large and muscular, coloured like the great silver trees, camouflaging them well in your home. You are not home, you are in a monster rocketing towards some distant plane, ready to slaughter the enemies of the skymasters.

"Brothers, Warriors of the Okai, remember our families, remember our home. Remember your duty. Today we might die but we do it for our future. Our ancestors watch over us, the gods smile on us and the skymaster have bestowed upon us their boomsticks!"

you hold your own aloft and your men follow suit shouting encouragements to each other.

"Kill their enemies and the skymasters will reward us greatly! Our families will never go hungry again! And you, you who brought honour to the Okai will live like kings!"

deafening cheers revebrate through the iron beast, enhancing it even further.
The Commissar steps up next to you.

"High Command has called in, we have the honour of being in the first wave. Once we land take down everyone who is not hu-i mean a skymaster or of the Okai. TERRA INVICTA!"

his fist slams against his chest, determination on his face. Your senses can smell his fear however, his false bravado not able to conceal it. You just know that this man knows what is coming. Before your men can smell the fear musk, you decide to take a gamble.

"You hear? The mighty High Command is watching over us! The greatest of the skymasters bestowed the honor of the first assault upon us! They saw the strength of the Okai and have decided to grant us the chance to earn Glory!"

More cheers from your warriors. Finally the approach is finished. You turn around and wait at the maw of the iron beast. With more force than you thought possible in the little body, the skymaster drags you away from the front rank. "Trust me you don't want to stand in the first row."

As the shuddering beast finally crashes to the ground and opens its maw, you are first blinded by the sun and then by the impact of the enemies lightsticks. You and your men had been warned beforehand but seeing the lightsticks in action is still terrifying. Before your warriors can charge out the entire first row of them is cut down by the impact of dozens of incandescent spears piercing their bodies. The remaining hundred manage to charge out of the Craft wildly firing the unfamiliar boomsticks and seeking cover. You leave the iron beast together with the skymaster commissar, half blinded by the sudden light and the impact of the incadescent spears from the lightsticks it takes you a moment to reorient. the skymaster is faster, clearly used to the situation at hand and drags you down towards some cover.

Your two hearts are beating arythmically as though they are racing each other. The situation is overhelming. Your senses are overhelmed. There is noise everywhere, appocalyptically loud, fire falls from the sky and more of the iron beasts with it. Some of them never reaching the ground. incadescent spears fly around everywhere, contrasted by the loud staccato reports of the boomsticks.

Screams of the dying and the wounded foul the air congealing into the general cacophony that is invading your ears. For a second you just stare ahead, until a stinging slap to your face rips you out of your reverie. The skymaster.

"GODDAMNIT YOU FUCKING APE! GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER! We have to get out of the landing zone! We-" you miss the rest of his orders as you watch in awe as one of the iron beasts is struck by a massive light spear. Screeching its mortally wounded body falls from the sky impacting with the beast you came in on. The resulting explosion is not unlike the volcanoes at home.

This is Death. This is the End. The Gods have abandoned you. The Ancestors have abandoned you...The End Times are here!

A. Get your act together. Calmly analyze the situation and act accordingly

B. CHAARGE! SHOW THEM WHAT PASSES FOR FURY AMONG THE OKAI!

C. Let the Commissar handle the situation, you have to look to the wounded and dying!

As a result of your Actions:

Shamanism,Superstition, Magic and the Occult is a part of your Culture.
The Cultural Cohesiveness of the Okai has risen.
The Obedience of the Okai has risen.

You shake your head. You are Okai. You are bred for war. Thats why the skymasters took you in. You will show them your worth. You peek over the ruined machinery you are hiding behind and take in the situation. Half your Warriors are down. They are Okai, they will manage. The other half has taken cover just like you. Across a field strewn with the carcasses of dozens of machines you see them. Hidden in earthen ditches, in buildings made from strange stone strange weapons fire endless streams of lightning spears. Your eyes focus on them and finally you can make out your enemy. thin, gangly and even more fragile than the skymasters looked. Those in the trenches in front of them however, looked differently. Like Olity...the vermin of your home. Their long snouts, their hair covered bodies and the chittering that your keen ears could discern from the sound of gunfire marked them as something different than those in the bunkers.

You voice carries easily across the battlefield. You order your beast hunters to aim the boomsticks and fire at the stone structure to keep them from firing and then you decide to finally show them what Okai are made of.

The lightning repeater silenced, Okai, red war paint in their faces, fetishes dangling from their bodies, holler, roar and bellow their quadruple lungs out as they charge towards the ditches. Boomsticks firing stakkato rhythms, raised as clubs are thrown aside in favor of melee weaponry. You make a terrible sight at the forefront of the charge, ritual scars and an elaborate runic script painted on your face, you know the effect it has on other Okai tribes, but how must it seem to these...vermin?

Screeching they open fire, strangely slow and staggered, most of the shots go wide, those that hit take down a few of your warriors. You do not worry, you are Okai, such things will not kill you. Then you are upon them and the slaughter you unleash upon them would please both the ancestors and the gods. Your ritual knife takes life after life and it seems almost as if you have already won as the vermin starts to crumble before you...that is until someone in that stone building seems to have gotten courage and opens up on both you and the vermin. The Lightning Thrower is far more dangerous than whatever the verminfolk possess...and with terror you watch your warriors being scythed down. Then the suppressive fire from your hunters sets in again. They are skilled but inexperienced with the boomsticks. You gather whoever you can and go around the stone building. as you close in you fall into a crouch, approaching the thrower carefully. You and your men surround the firing slit, still staying below the stone. With handsigns you count to three before the lot of you jump up and empty your boomsticks into the building. A few of your men die regardless but it is worth it. You cleared out the stone building. Vaulting through the window you and a few of your warriors kill the remaining wounded enemies...

Impressive. I thought we were done for. What are our losses?

You grimace. "Twenty."

Only twenty? That is far below the expected losses. That is excellent. Command will be ecstatic! Chieftain, you and your warriors have taken the first step on a long road to glory for your people. This bridgehead here might not have been of strategical importance, but you have allowed us to land without taking any Terran casualties, that alone will carry some rewards for your people.

How do you feel about this?

A. Ask for the next assignment, the skymasters surely demand more shows of your prowess after this first taste.

B. A high price to be paid...and for what? table scraps? Your people deserve better...

C. Wait and see what comes...for now you will look to your own.

D.Socialize with the skymaster

Terran respect has risen
You have lost 20 of your warriors! (90 remaining, excluding you)
Okai Adaptiveness has increased.
