Attempt to connect with this recalcitrant host by appealing to his sense of pride. It seems this is one of the more philosophical ones, or perhaps merely simple.
" It seems my colleagues have already introduced me. I'll skip the explanation for why we're here, given that anyone with a working pair of eyes can see the reason. As for the attitude, I can understand why you might seem.... displeased about this prospect. Perhaps the lies of our adversaries have gotten to you, and tricked you into viewing yourself as a pawn in some grander scheme. Perhaps it was a viewpoint of your own making, a feeling that you are naught but a plumped lamb, destined for sacrifice and consumption. It could even be that you despise your fellow citizens, for forcing you to fight in their stead.
I'll admit, all of these are powerful arguments. All I have to say in response is simple: Despite what we both know about you, the people out there, potentially even the people in this room, don't see that. They don't care about the man you were before this, be it sinner, or saint. All they see is a Vessel, and the power that comes with it. With a little cooperation, Id imagine we could put that power to good use.
Having said his piece, Wormwood turns outward intoning a word of faith to the assembled mortals, watching carefully for any signs of discomfort or pain.
How many demons are there? What type, and composition?
The response is simple. "Do what you must, angel. It's not like I can stop you."
Your
word has a predictable effect on the humans wearing ceremonial garb, and somewhat more chaotic effect on all the others. To some subset, it is clearly frightening. None seem to react with pain, however. Your vision doesn't lie.
The head priest responds to your question. "We do not know. No small number of weaker roaming demons, a few have spotted taurus demons. There's likely worse than that out there."
Word of Faith:Greetings!
Also thanks to Zos Orlie that this being shall endeavor to work best with her intent and person.
"It is nice to see everyone gathered here. May I ask what is the status of the surroundings and of everyone at present?"
You speak your
word, which elicits a response from everyone. Your vessel and the priests seem elated, while the other onlookers vary from relieved to frightened.
Of course, the other seven vessels make no obvious reactions, as they are controlled by angels.
The head priest explains to you that basically the entire city is overrun by demons. None have managed to get past the castle wall yet, but that will likely change soon.
"WELL DAHLIA YOU CAN CALL ME VALE"
The vessel does not respond for a moment.
"...Well, Vale. Would you care to fill me in on the plan?"
<NIJI GREETS VESSEL-FRIEND FION! NIJI THANKS VESSEL-FRIEND FION! HAVE MUCH FUN, YES? PURIFY DEMONS, YES? FLY MUCH, YES?>
NIJI WILL ENJOY FLYING WHILE THE THINKY-TALKY ANGELS DO THEIR THINKY-TALKY THING. NIJI WILL FLY AROUND AND SEE THE SIGHTS. MAYBE FIND SOME PRETTY BIRD TO RACE.
EDIT: NIJI WILL ENTHUSIASTICALLY LISTEN TO ANYTHING FION HAS TO SAY. IF HE HAS NOTHING TO SAY, THEN NIJI WILL ALSO ENTHUSIASTICALLY TALK ABOUT HOW GREAT EVERYTHING IS: INCARNATING. FLYING. THE WORLD. FION. FLYING. HAVING A BODY. THIS PLACE. FLYING. FEELING THE SUN. PURIFYING DEMONS. AND FLYING.
"...Yes, I would like that, NIJI."
Seeing that the thinky-talky angels will probably do their thing for a while, you soar into the air and take in the sights. Big ole castle back there, big gate here,
really big city out there... past that, some trees, some hills, more buildings, mountains... you can really see a long way in the material realm, huh?
Your eyes spot a tiny speck down in the city rise up and
oh it's coming in very fast you focus on it and see a box-shaped paper box or something filled with demonic flames and [4]
you
Purify it before it can collide with you. The burst of light streaks downwards, filling a path from you down to the city streets with divine energy. Several demonic voices below voice discomfort and annoyance.
"Destroy them!"
It's good to know that your vessel has its priorities straight.
DAVE IS THE CURRENT HOST OF FORCE SATESIA. DAVE'S LACK OF RESPECT HAS BEEN NOTED.
Introductions complete, Satesia turns their attention outwards.
"WHICH VESSEL HOSTS PURIFIER CAPTAIN SERVANT WORMWOOD."
"Well, it is good to meet you, Force Satesia."
Using your angelic senses, you can see the halos of the other angels superimposed over the visual perception of their vessels. Servant Wormwood is a familiar sight, just the same as his form in the Divine Realm. His vessel appears to be a large male with a bald head.
Well pleasure to meet you Mina, I am Chou. So which of these guys is the big time religious figure? Got a message to deliver, Aside other angelic duties. I must say, this feeling in mortal life is, interesting.
Did not mind fact a female, rather sadden that these people lose their lives for them to exist. But perks ups Oh I could use Insight. One of my two Heavenly Powers.
Yeah..
: Turn it on to scan the head honcho Priest.:
"Well, it's the man in the head priest uniform, of course!"
Using your
Insight, you gather that the head priest is rather shaken by this situation and just doing his best to set a good example. He is hopeful that your arrival will help, but is not entirely faithful that you will be able to deal with the situation.
[Hail, Orless Rose. I am the Wanderer; so, therefore, are you. I will require that you communicate for me; I am not greatly built for the task.]
A blindfold manifests over Orless's eyes - not, technically, a "real" blindfold, but the Wanderer's mark upon their Vessel. At the same time, a quarterstaff appears in their hands - the Wanderer's Sacred Arms. It is mostly plain, but the two ends notably have deep engravings depicting flying ravens circling them.
[Additionally, if you could inform me as to the present situation, it would be greatly appreciated. I am assigned to assist in the protection of humans from demons first and foremost.]
[Ah. Additionally, it was requested that it be made clear that Jyn'thim is now in charge of harvests, not Lyther'hymn. Applicable prayers should be redirected.]
Finally, see if I can use Animism to summon a raven or two to me. They should be helpful as familiars.
A corona protrudes from you, the divine light unraveling and folding into a slip of fabric which fits over your eyes, while another offshoot forms a cylinder which telescopes out into a rod before locking into place. You move your arm slightly, testing the staff's weight. Orless seems pleased.
"An elegant weapon, I approve."
You query Orless on the situation.
"It does depend on what you need to know, but I'll tell you what I know to the best of my knowledge. Late last night powerful demons appeared in the temple and killed or chased away everyone inside. A group of guards went inside to destroy the demons, but they were not successful. Once the sun had come up, many demons streamed from the temple and set about destroying the city. Most people ran inside the castle keep, and the demons haven't made any large attacks past that gate yet."
You attempt to use the power Animism to summon some ravens but unfortunately that's not what that power does so you cannot. The wind does tell you that corvids sometimes fly around here but that's not precisely useful to you.
First order of business: Grow wings and teleport into the air, silently gain altitude, and watch the proceedings from above. While doing so, quietly respond to the human:[/b]
<Fear not! This entity is appellated Vu Iryrfej'ksez, silent sound force angel. Humanity may refer to Vu as Vu. It possesses title; polite curiousity demands knowledge of Vessel facts. Yes?>
