Not much happens in Norway, and the eurothread gives me a decently-populated outlet to throw Norwegian news at people on the occasions when it does happen. And then everybody laughs because of how strange and fanciful a country it is.

You know who laughs in a Norwegian thread? Nobody.

Alright...Shit seems okay calm. Apparently some people came with rifles.

Also thanks to the last week demonstration to have been out of their way to protect the tomb of the unknown soldier.
Hope order is reestablished soon.

It will when Macron is no longer president.

It will when Macron is no longer president.

Yeah that's not gonna happen.

Also what it is said is, they will now be targetting institutions, not that they are taking over.

Yeah that's not gonna happen.

Dude hasn't been seen since Thursday night.

He already ran out of Paris cause he is scared they will breach the presidential palace and lynch him.

It will happen. Don't you know history at all? France has had like 5 revolutions, another one won't be any weird thing.

France had just one revolution. You're thinking about our number of republics.

First republic after the revolution, second republic after the restauration, third republic after the franco german war under Napoleon III, fourt republic of vichy, fifth republic under De Gaulle and forward.

Also nah. That is something akin to the suburban revolts of 2006. We have a lot of that.
It is bigger than usual tho, but as long as things are kept under control we're good.

The danger is not a revolution, that shit will not happen. The danger is some minority politician or military official using this as an occasion to seize power

So those republics that came about from violent revolutions are not made by revolutions? Maybe you don't count Coup D'etats to be revolutions...

e), was founded on 22 September 1792 during the French Revolution.

After seizing political power in France in a 1799 coup d’état, he crowned himself emperor in 1804. Shrewd

On 2 September 1870, after France's defeat at the Battle of Sedan in the Franco-Prussian War, Emperor Napoleon III surrendered to the Prussian Chancellor Otto von Bismarck. When the news reached Paris the next day, shocked and angry crowds came out into the streets. Empress Eugénie de Montijo, the Emperor's wife and acting Regent at the time, fled the city, and the Government of the Second Empire swiftly collapsed. Republican and radical deputies of the National Assembly went to the Hôtel de Ville, proclaimed the new French Republic, and formed a Government of National Defence. Though the Emperor and the French Army had been defeated at Sedan, the war continued. The German army marched swiftly toward Paris.

There are 3 examples right there. If those are not revolutions, what are?

Those people's descendants are the same ones causing the current climate in France. Is this not a revolution as well?

Look I am fairly certain that, in my country, when we say "coup d'état" we don't mean that as a form of revolution unless you want to teach me how to speak french.

We had a lot of change of regime, and only one was really brought by the people. The rest were military officers seizing powers or opportunisticpoliticians taking advantage of a dire situation.

We had a

Revolution means there are new people in Charge of the system (and sometimes a new system).

Is that so hard to understand?
