The French identity isn't in any danger from regional threads on Bay12, and there's not a large enough French userbase here to actually maintain their own thread. Why flag-wave about the structure of threads on an internet forum? It will collapse to what is most convenient in the end. Even full-on regional threads outside of Europe like Asia and Africa are barely extant, especially the latter, because people don't post in them.

If the brits had the same balls as the French (or maybe cause the UK drinks fluoridation water while France does not).

Plus France has had the most revolutions out of any country in Europe by far. This is much more interesting and likely to happen than Brexit....

There's this thing one can do in a such a case called "changing the topic". It's pretty effective at getting people to talk about what you want.

French posters are going to have the most interest and inclination to post about France. A France-centered thread will further draw French posters much more strongly than non-French ones.

Sounds like a great reason to making a Thread just about France. I would like to get input from people living in France and I am sure the Thread title is better attention grabber for them than the EU thread title.
