"Oh, that is an issue... but I didn't know Gevarren has a noble family living here." The Princess looked down at the ground, thinking. "What's the Lord's family name?"

"Ah, Your Hi... Ahem..."

He murmurs around a bit, silently mentioning stuff like "secrecy", before raising his voice to normal levels again.

"... Aaaanyway. We managed to stock up on healing items. We have yet to decide if we need something from the local smith. My javelin's still in perfect condition, though, so it's not of immediate importance."

After hearing what Venza reported to Her Highness, he internally rolls his eyes. He has a hunch about how the Princess will react to it.

"Also what Venza said. The name is Lodewik, although we couldn't confirm if it was a lord's name."

[GiglameshDespair]

"I don't believe the Sister called him a lord. 'Wrinkled goat' was her words, I believe."

[Haspen]

The Princess nodded.

"Lodewik, I think I heard some traveling merchant lady say that, that, um... that she bought an item? No, a vulnerary, from him... Would he have bought all the Vulneraries to, to sell them at higher price?" Sophia let out a hum. "Rowan and Venza, could you find that Lodewik and see if maybe he could sell us some vulneraries? My staff can... can only do much when... if trouble arises."

[SirAston]

"If it's your wish, then we can do that much. But before we part, allow us to give the both of you a herb each."

[GiglameshDespair]

"...Your highness." Priscilla said, all merriment suddenly gone from her tone.
"Do you have reason to expect danger?"

The Princess blushed, and per usual when she was in trouble, she looked down at the ground for a while.

"No... yes. I-I don't know. It's just this... feeling." Sophia looked around. "I just... just don't feel very good this far from my father's castle, it's... a bit unnerving. I feel like, like, like everyone's staring at my back all the time."

"That explains why you were so quiet on our little stroll." Johannes sighed. "Perhaps, instead of breaking up into groups, all of us should accompany you, if need be. We can go shopping for vulneraries together. After all, I'm a bit suspicious of this "Lodewik" fellow myself. Strength in numbers. I'm sure you won't mind?"

[Haspen]

"Oh! That would be..." The Princess lowered her voice. "...very nice, I would like that, yes."

[SirAston]

"Say the word and I will fetch Palewing post-haste. She's my legs on the battlefield, after all..."

[TricMagic]

Venza looks at her and speaks calmly

"Don't look so down, Miss Sophia. Journeys can be rough or calm, but we keep on.

"All we need to do is keep moving forward and meeting new people."





"Let's see about getting Palewing to help us.  He can draw the eye and get people talking."

[Haspen]

The Princess looked briefly at Johannes, then at the others.

"Let's, let's go and have a chat with that Lodewik person, then..."

"Indeed. Although we will need to expend some effort to find him."

...Is it a good idea to put her in danger like this?

I can't be the only one protecting her. If everyone else dies she's doomed. And they'll be without their tactician...

The party was underway to visit the enigmatic Lodewik!

With Palewing in tow and directed by the villagers, they've arrived at a building that looked more like a simple cottage rather than a shop.
