The wagon rolled along the rocky path, loaded full of food and supplies. The trees pressed closely on both sides. In the distance, a mountain range tinted red as the sun began to set. Seven dwarves walked alongside the wagon. They were Avuz Liruk, the Mines of Violence. One of them was surrounded by a dozen turkeys. Two other dwarves were talking.
"No," Mafol grumbled, "you can't have my milk. You won't turn it into cheese." He scowled at the dwarf next to him.
"I - that's fine, Mafol, you can keep it. I don't mind. I would probably have ruined it anyway. What would a carpenter know about cheesemaking?" Atȋs coughed and turned away.
Mafol was slightly regretful as Atȋs turned away. He hadn't meant to upset her. But how was he supposed to interact with someone whose resolve crumbled so easily?
Putting the argument behind him, Mafol turned to Tulon. "Do you think we can reach Libashabod tonight, or should we camp?" Mafol asked him. The drab dwarf began to speak, but he was interrupted by a series of loud gobbles. "Libash!" Mafol shouted over the noise. "Your turkeys!"
In the middle of the cacophonous gang, Libash bit her nails. "I can't tell what's upsetting them," she spoke loudly. "I think they could be sensing a predator. Perhaps we should set up camp. I don't want wolves eating them."
I swear, Libash is closer to her turkeys than to any dwarf, Mafol thought. Still, she may be right. He leaned closer to Tulon. "You're the navigator. How far are we from Libashashod?"
"We can make it... I think," Tulon said. "I don't think there are any wolves in this area. We'll arrive in the middle of the night, but I don't think it's worth it to make another camp when we could do it at Libashabod itself."
Mafol said nothing for half a minute. "Yes," he finally said, "we will continue."
Kogan nodded agreement. Mestthos frowned slightly, but kept walking. "How are you doing?" said Dodók. This didn't have anything to do with the conversation, but they were all used to Dodók at this point, including her tendency to talk to inanimate objects. "You can rest your wheels soon," Dodók reassured the wagon.
