Just remember it’s only a game, and everyone is out to murder you.

Can players hold their own auctions?
Not unless they have an ability that lets them do so.

And with that we have 9 players, meaning we can start... but I'd like to gather a few more people first if possible.

Just remember it’s only a game, and everyone is out to murder you.
Technically they're out to lynch you.

Would you like to play a game of Mafia? The subforum is always open to new players.

It's been four days and I haven't gotten anyone new.

Hence I'm gonna get started on the roles, though if you're interested and you get in early enough I might still be able to fit you in.

I thought I'd gone in on this already for some reason. Oh well. In?

This is a BYOR, meaning when you go in, you must also PM me something for me to build your role out of. What are you allowed to submit? Almost everything. Basically, if it doesn't violate the forum rules and guidelines, and I think I can make something fun out of it, it should be fine. I reserve the right to veto your role submission.

Need to send something, this isn't exactly your average mafia.

BYORs are pretty common here, so I think DA knows how these work.

Its like a potluck. You bring a role. And then you have to answer a bunch of questions when you get salmonella from Shakerag's role.

No, it's more like a poetry slam. You bring something that you think is clever, then the GM twists it into a 'meaning' and then people insult you for several days straight while revealing their own cleverness one by one. And then you get salmonella from the concurrent cocktail party.

Japan, as the ninjas in the last game suggest.

Was I the only one that went to Wikipedia, hit “random article” and submitted that?

My choice wasn't at all random, and in my opinion plays nicely to the themes of pacifism and money.
