military dwarfs eternally asleep
« on: July 31, 2018, 07:35:41 pm »

Half of my military dwarves are under perpetual sleepiness. They need to be given water and everything and are either drowsy or very drowsy. What caused this? i was attacked by a forgotten beast with some form of gas, could thiscause it? how do i wake them up?

Nasty syndrome from the gas probably. Apply magma to all affected parts.

If it doesn't wear off with time, it's permanent and can only be removed by a magical dwarf transformation under a full moon.

...or DFHacking (which should preferably be performed under the full moon, of course).

You can euthanise them by expelling them then asking another dwarf to club their brains in, sad but true, I euthanise more dwarves for numerous reasons than im really readily willing to admit, including extremely inconvenient healthy dwarves trapped in incompletable strange moods and those affected with were-curses.

Not sure if it has any reprecussions since they'll basically become a visitor, but if they're asleep or trapped then it shouldn't be too much trouble and dwarves will ferret away the body into a tomb pronto with complementary horror, normally if they can crawl away with unfixable injuries i just let them leave the map with pernament expulsion.
