To clarify this, I apparently can't answer 'yes' to this question. I have an auto that makes my alignment appear as cult (presumably to balance out the whole reviving thing), so I guess it'd be technically untrue to claim my alignment as town. It doesn't have any effect on my wincon though.

SOME part of that post was untrue, apparantly, so we can't be sure if ANY of it was true. And I suppose we can't really be sure if anything you say now is untrue either.
I guess we may as well keep asking questions though, in case you are still under that ability.

It was apparently untrue that my auto has no effect on my wincon, but it's true that my auto doesn't change my wincon. I hadn't noticed there was a distinction there.

As far as I'm concerned, he hasn't died at all. He's clearly alive. What abilities he does or does not currently have is of course known only to him.

Hey Max, does "The Worst Policy" make it so that everything the affected player says needs to be true, or just true as far as they know?
Like, imagine that we got Deus to say "FoU is a townie" and then he explodes. Presumably Deus didn't actually have access to that information when he made the statement, but we might be able to summon information from the aether by having Deus say things that he doesn't know are true or not, then observing if he explodes or not.

This is of course an ability that may or may not be a 1-shot, due to Deus exploding. But hey, maybe he'll survive again.

Haha, sorry, no, only true as far as the player knows; although I would caution such a player to use phrasings like "I think" or "as far as I know", just in case.

If the auto doesn't change his wincon, why would it be technically untrue to claim his alignment as town? Does what you inspect as change your alignment?
