I agree with Urist. Steampunk is like Darth Vader winning Holland's Next Top Model. It would be awesome but not something I'd like in this game.
Unfortunately dying involves the amputation of the entire body from the dwarf.

In DF 1.0 we will be able to rout a siege (or loose the entire fort) via dance off.

I will never get bored of how funny things become when you mix up lose and loose. I picture a stunning dance routine by the Dwarves of Amulgash, the centrepiece of which is the entire fort being fired out of its foundations and disappearing over an adjoining mountain.
