Enable Magma Buildings

Hey has anyone got the tool "Enable Magma Buildings" from the wiki page to work with version 38c yet?

Its not working on my machine but the user_talk page doesn't say anything about the tool's non-compliance with 33c.

O and has anyone got heal.exe to work with 33c? I'm only asking because my two Hunters had a run in with an elephant and they forgot their ammo.

Enable Magma Buildings is not needed for the new version. The bug it bypassed has been fixed.

Well that is funny then.  Because on this map I used reveal before I ever saw the magma, yet I cannot build magma buildings.  I have magma at z-1 and I've dug my channels for my forges but it won't let me build them (I can't see them on my menu).

That's because you used reveal. It's not a bug if you use reveal.

Try downloading tweak. It contains the program.

The bug has not been fixed yet. IIRC, Magma Buildings was intended to bypass a bug in reveal. So yes, it is a bug if you use reveal.

any update for this for .12?  i used reveal to look over the map before starting, and now i cannot discover any magma, and i don't get magma buildings, boooooooooooo any help would be glorious!

Wait, you didn't unpause after using reveal did you? If you didn't, then you should still be able to discover the magma sea normally IIRC. Well, that's how it worked for me on the couple occassions I used reveal.

And if you did, well, why the hell would you since it just spawns a ton of demons and kills your fps.

All maps have magma now.

Another fix might be to not save after using reveal.

Why use reveal at all anymore?

I like to occasionally reveal immediately upon embark to have a look in the caverns (usually if I have limited surface water, I like to know if there is a good source in the caverns) and to see how many bluemetal doohickeys I ended up with.  But I always save and then back up the save beforehand, and then kill the DF process after revealing then reload so as to minimize danger of screwing up my save.

meh. it's tons more exciting for myself if i just dig down and be surprised, but that's my opinion.
