You already have, I made everyone on the blue team use it back when we were on the transport. If you check your status you'd notice you have a Soma LMG in your inventory. The way I designed it as to prevent it from being OP means you can't use it again unless you die and respawn(if that's even a mechanic, it seems like it is), or die for good and change characters(which I'm not sure you can actually do in this game).

However any new players joining our team can use it, thus meaning that everyone on our team but me basically gets a second weapon.

That being said;
Go to the armory, try and put on a vest(might not work since my hand are floaty), get a knife as a backup weapon

Respawning is a thing. You'll get put in an experimental cloning machine, which may or may not work depending on what vital organs you still have, if someone recovers your body and returns it to base. If your body is vaporized, burnt, shredded, swiss cheesified, or destroyed by any other reason beyond potential revival, or the head or vital organs are gone, you'll just have to hope a teammate makes a new body.
