"Okay... there's a few things we could do here. You could get the cloth replaced back to mint, but for a '68 that'd be... pricey. You'd have to order the replacement covers specially and I can't see that going under two thousand. Not the kinda work I really do either. Might have a patch kit or a seat cover to sell you, though. Wouldn't be as pretty as those immaculate seats used to be, but, well, affordable. And better than your murder-sheets at least."

You follow Steve into the store part of the shop, a small space filled with shelves of automotive paraphernalia and occasionally snacks. Steve's old man, Iggy, grunts at you from behind a newspaper (and the counter) as you enter.

You're unable to find a cloth patch kit that quite matches the hue of your seats, but fortunately you can cover the back with a seat protector. You've seen a lot of other rideshare drivers equipped with those, so you guess it might actually make you look more professional. Perhaps fittingly, the packaging shows a big dog sitting on the applied cover. Unfortunately, there's nothing to cover the back of the passenger's seat, which is also torn. "Maybe you could find another cover at a department store," suggests Steve, "Or maybe just apply the patch kit there for right now."

Having gathered your purchases, though, you present them to Iggy, who runs the barcode scanner over while barely looking away from his paper. "$45"

With Steve's help, you soon have the patches on over the claw marks and cloth sealant painted around the edges. As you're finishing the last ironing, he notices the sticker in the corner of your windshield. "Oh shit, you're working ReWheels? Since when? Also, how is it?"

"Just two days. And it's... different. Mind, I've only given three rides so far, but you would not imagine the kind of people you meet."

As you start the car and prepare to pull out of the shop, Steve leans towards the window. "Don't be such a stranger, Elly, uh? Good luck with the ridesharing!"
