Are you using a mod to get those hit/miss screens you sometimes show? I'm trying to use miniguns in my game and I'm not sure how exactly I'm supposed to understand what damage they're doing.

That is part of Open XCom iirc, adds a keybind for showing whether you hit, missed or did no damage. Either shift+h or ctrl+h by default if it is enabled.

Ah. Ctrl H brought it up. It just said H in the battlescape hotkeys entry in the ufopaedia, so I assumed it wasn't implemented in the basegame yet when my H presses failed to bring it up. Thanks!

From what I remember in Vanilla, the Firestorm kind of blew chunks - it had very short range and wasn't very fast (except compared to the standard interceptor). I usually skipped it and the Lightning and went straight for the Avenger, which could fly around the world several times and the only thing that gave it pause was battleships.

I'm guessing, given the amount of detail this mod has, that they balanced the Firestorm a bit better.

I don't know, Firestorms probably still have short range and low speed. Maybe engine mods and electronics will help to compensate that somehow?

Speaking of skipping planes, I vaguely remember someone saying that Thunderstorms are skippable, but that probably was Yogscast playthrough of The Final Modpack, so that doesn't matter. Ravens can deal with scouts, harvesters and small fighters, but they don't have enough HP for anything bigger.

How many Birdvigs must die before this thread reaches it's climactic conclusion!!! ;.;

Well... Clearly we still need a Birdvig. I say we take the latest dead one, or maybe the first Birdvig, and revive him as Zombie Birdvig.

Jeez, poor Birdvig. Aliens couldn't kill him, so they had to get weak, traitorous scum to do it for them.

I definitely wasn't expecting a weird eye-mutant wearing an SS signet ring!
So does that mean that the Syndicate's run by space Nazis?

Bad news! I'm outta peppermint tea! Looks like it's sage tea time.

Mutant Nazis, if the interrogation report is anything to go by.

Shotguns work well against shields, at least in piratez, because they don't have resists, so raw damage output it what brings them down.

Too bad you don't have Arena Flak at your disposal.

Finally caught up! While drinking peppermint tea actually.

This is a war of attrition and it can only be won by the ultimate human superweapon: the Gym.
