I wanted to get the update out tonight before the school week started, so I flipped a coin. Recruit Henchman won.

Recruit Henchman:

Roll: 2 = 2 * 0.0 (0 renown spent) = 0 rounds up to = 1

You elect to keep the growth of your private council quite, and your acquisitions out of the public eye. As such, your crop of potential recruits is less than spectacular. You spend some time tracking reports of local super-humans and their exploits. After weeding out those that are to public, or unlikely to be complaint with the nature of your cause you end up with two possible candidates, neither of which look very exceptional. Given the amount of resources you invested into finding them though, you feel like you got rather lucky they are competent at all. You can acquire one (1) of the following 2 candidates for your council.

Melissa seems to be the superior option. They're both pretty trash but the rat is both a snitch and prone to not following orders. Where the psion is only hard to earn the loyalty of.

Sigh If we went for my plan we possibly would have gotten something a bit better, since spending renown modifies the roll. Still, the rolls where pretty bad anyway so it cant really be helped...

Said psychic does have telekinesis though, so they aren't completely inept in combat. And we can always train them up some more as well.

Dark Hand strikes me as the kind of character who could be safely developed into a stronger villain. The Rat, less so. It'd be a struggle to really get him to do what we need him to do.

The Rat strikes me as a good thug, but not as proper main villain material. While you are completely lacking in brute force thus far, the rat is someone you would want to keep out of your major affairs, you wouldn't want him to go wander off from your assigned task and wind up blabbing everything now would you? Personally I think you should have used renown on this, but it's not really your fault you guys rolled a 2.
