The elephants in Boatmurdered were normal (for a certain value of normal) elephants, giant ones didn't exist back then.
But were they evil? evil elephants would make great familiars for magic users like witches that curse and hex people....

I believe there is an argument to be made about elephants being inherently evil creatures. Giving randomized powers to night trolls and forgotten beasts would be a very good idea. I imagine swamp titans being followed by a small army of giant spiders. That could be very cool (and fun)

The closest thing Bay12 has to a flamewar is an argument over philosophy that slowly transitioned to an argument about quantum mechanics.

The trick is to only make predictions semi-seriously.  That way, I don't have a 98% failure rate. I have a 98% sarcasm rate.

Night creatures will be connected to and respect the myth for any particular world (dev notes somewhere, I think), so they'll have procedurally generated powers that make sense (in a fantasy "Makes Sense!" kind of way), not randomized.
