Tribal - A dynastic group survival game : Year 1 Winter

Ever wanted to lead a dynasty all the way from the stone ages to modern times and beyond? Ever wanted to compete with other players whilst doing so? Tribal is a dynastic game of co-opetition, cooperating with other players to survive, whilst competing with them to thrive. Each season players must declare actions for each of their family members, ensuring their needs are met and bringing prestige to the family. As I suffer from making very rules-heavy games, I'm intentionally not creating many of them now, and instead will organically develop them to fit the needs of the players.

So for now, all I ask of potential players is to fill in the following form:

Dynasty Name: (The name all family members will carry from henceforth)
Patriarch Name: (Name of the first male in the family)
Matriarch Name: (Name of the first female in the family)
Family Boon: (Anything that'll make life a bit easier. We may have to negotiate on effects to keep things balanced, but we'll burn that bridge when we get to it)

Matriarch: Amelia
Boon: Intelligence and lateral thinking. While rarely ambitious, members of this family often make good advisors, able to look at problems from different perspectives to identify a solution.

All looking good so far! SaberToothTiger and Roboson are approved right off the bat because their boon is pretty straight froward.

Maximum Spin and Glass, both of yours are less clear cut, so I'll sound out some mechanical bonuses with you and see if that's the kind of thing either of you are wanting.

Research, increasing the rate by which new technology is discovered
Learning, increasing the rate at which taught knowledge is learnt
Teaching, increasing the rate at which taught knowledge is passed on
Something else? You know what you want better than I do after all :P

If SaberTooth or Roboson particularly object to the mechanical effects of their boons, they can speak up too.

PPE: Pavellius' sheet looks good too.

I'm looking for something more like a combination of Research and Learning - specifically, the ability to integrate new data, whether from teaching or direct observation, into actual knowledge, making connections with other known facts, along with creativity in generating new hypotheses and theories. That kind of thing.

How about we're better at negotiating with other tribes? Basically, we're more effective traders and diplomats than others typically are.

Ahh. I understand now. That seems fine to me :)

For balance reasons, your dynasty wouldn't be as good as a dynasty whose boon is purely Learning or Research, but you will be better than a generic dynasty at both.

The vast majority of your interactions will be with other players, so you won't get the opportunity to use it much. On the plus side you would be fantastic at it, in order to make it worth having.

I'll think of something.

EDIT: maybe helping? Basically, if we're doing something with other people, we magnify their and our ability to do it well. We can't do anything better than anyone else - not on a family scale, at least - but we make the tribe as a whole run at a higher quality.
