Some people are questioning if it was just an "oh shit, I need to change it" but the alt text for the last comic is "Shadows", so...
Just idle speculation. I could see making that panel for artistic reasons and later realizing the lighting doesn't make sense. But yes, it was most likely intentional.

Well, that's what sorcery is. Which may be something of a separate art from what the stinkin' new gods practice, which has a lot to do with sticking a tuning fork in your forehead that contains the secret names and voices of god.
Yisun is also described as a liar.

Quote
The way I see it is that normal sorcery is the same as lying very convincingly, while the kingly shenanigans of the conquering king and successors is more like telling what you believe to be the truth with such conviction that hey, it turns out to have been true all along.
That distinction still feels rather immaterial.

The difference between lies and truth may be immaterial to YISUN, but the rest of us are very good at pretending we think there's a difference.

Unless you overcome this weakness, you'll never become president royalty.

It is not a weakness, it is exquisite acting. If YISUN didn't pretend it was multiple people, YISUN would be all alone, and YISUN would be sad, having nobody to tell its stories to.
Anyone could break character, but that would ruin the play. Unless that's what the play was about, all along.

But the division of self was not repudiation of a lie, it was itself a lie. Perhaps the greatest lie, and almost certainly the first.

New one up. He is certainly confident that no harm would come to him and Zaid might not be aware of Solomon's martial arts abilities. He's probably outlawed most ranged weapons for good measure.

His comment about being weary reminds me of Mottoms comment about the days 'flowing like water'.

He's certainly cocky. Something tells me, he gonna get whooped.

Solomon does at least seem to show some concern for the well-being of his minions. Natural kindness, or simply pragmatism?
I suppose he doesn't need to hurry up the work, given that he plans to live forever, of course.

The spike meister hated the guy so much he turned an escort mission into a murder

Also the boys want a fresh god||king to sexistly figurehead their reactionary restoration AND/OR genocide

But mostly it's because he wanted to die. Not that it made much of a difference to him, apperantly.

Ah I forgot all about the boys' sub-plot. Danke. I'm interested to the end of the guy's storyline though. It intrigues me.
