I prefer the 5 active players option, because god games quality and pacing tend to suffer the more active players there are.

But the inconvenient of 5 active players + Waitlist is that cycling through the waitlist often force players to take chaotic actions to eliminate each others. (not necessarily bad, but often turn the early game whacky)

How about going with an era system? There would be 5 active players at a time, and 5 dormant/resting ones. The two teams would swap after an era, that could be a set number of turns.

They would still be able to use Divine Shield

The problem with that however is partnering up. You need to ensure said partner is able to mesh with your spheres.

Yet this isn't the end for those of you who'd like to participate. There are two ways that you will be able to influence the game. First and formost is to volunteer for a minor position within the game. While being a god may not be in the dice for you, joining in and taking over NPC demigods, demons, angels and other beasties will allow you to still partake.

And if that doesn't float your boat, I'm always going to need help with the turnly special offers. If there's interest in that I'll gladly take people's creations and give them a chance to get them into the game. Perhaps even some manipulation from beyond the universe if there's justification for it. Really I don't want this to be the end of the road for those who didn't get lucky on this one fateful roll.
