The bird will make as huge of a ruckus as it possibly can further down the hallway, making sure to always be a bit ahead of the Goons.
If Fansworth is able to activate the radio from his current location, he will do so. Otherwise, he will wait until the Goons have passed by the door and quietly creep out, in order to reach a better location. If he encounters Goons along the way, his first priority will be to hide from them, and if he can’t just slip past them, he’ll try to ambush them and choke them to death (or some other relatively silent manner of killing). Only if they notice him will he resort to using his gun.

Already rolled the earlier suggestion, plus it doesn't really interfere...

[1] - Epic failure

The parrot lifts off and flies towards the hallway.

It veers into the stairwell, crashes into the far end, and falls to the bottom of the stairs with a THUMP and a 3rd concussion.

It comes to in the hands of a Goon.

"...still, that might be the thinking bird. There's no way a normal bird ended up here," says the serious Goon.

"Waste of a bullet to kill it," says the Goon holding the parrot.

"You can just snap its neck," says the hungry Goon.

What does the parrot do?

Fansworth glances up to see broken glass on the panels and smoke pouring out of the consoles. It seems that the radar, navigation, and radio systems have been destroyed.

He hears a faint thump and flop outside.

Fingers are thin, if you think about it. The parrot struggles and squirms, but the Goon's grip on it is too tight. He can't-
