The parrot attempts to fly through the door.

It bounces off it with a THUD, giving itself a concussion, but manages to stabilize itself. The hallway beyond is empty, and runs left to right. To the left, there is a flight of stairs leading up. To the right, the hallway curves into the distance.

What do you do?

You listen, but can hear nothing. There's a faint noise in the stairwell, though. You take off to fly closer-

-and FLUMP straight into a Goon's face as they round the stairwell. You fall to the floor, giving yourself a 2nd concussion.

Jacob Eldin, midway in the small procession of Goons, points and shouts. "What is that?"

CHOMP! The parrot bites the Goon holding him, and he lets go, clutching his hand in pain.

The bird flies up the stairwell.

Flying out on the second floor, it sees another hallway. To the left, there is a heavy door. To the right, the hallway goes on a bit before turning to the left.

[6] - Gone Horribly Right

The parrot squacks at the door.

There is a long silence. Then the sound of a voice down the stairwell: "Say, didn't the Mittani say Erin Quill had a thinking bird?"


Fansworth's murderers have long fled, taking the captured rebel with him. Now he lies on the floor in a pool of his own blood, bleeding to death.

Hammerspace rifts roil around his body. Tendrils of blazing white Don't-Look-Here plug his wounds and restart his heart. He opens his eyes to an abstract kaleidoscope, halfway between Hammerspace and the slightly more real world beneath it.

"Oh, real funny," he mutters.

Edward Fansworth, you will be given another chance at life as the result of a chance through other channels.

"And this is how you do it? No rhyme or reason, just... shove it in?"

You will have no delusions that this is being done willingly. The disruption that would have been caused if a more overt method had been used is immense. You will minimize this disruption.

"To hell with you. I'm ready for some disruption," Fansworth answers. Still stationary on the floor, he takes note of his situation. He seems to have been mostly healed, if still soaked in blood.

He hears a loud squack outside the right door.

The bird will make as huge of a ruckus as it possibly can further down the hallway, making sure to always be a bit ahead of the Goons.
If Fansworth is able to activate the radio from his current location, he will do so. Otherwise, he will wait until the Goons have passed by the door and quietly creep out, in order to reach a better location. If he encounters Goons along the way, his first priority will be to hide from them, and if he can’t just slip past them, he’ll try to ambush them and choke them to death (or some other relatively silent manner of killing). Only if they notice him will he resort to using his gun.
