Smoke Mirrors reads Rick Riordan
Much more than Riordan. SM has read mythology textbooks and whole swathes of judeo-christian demonology for fun.
SM is just generally a mythology nut.

We should co-GM a godgame. I can come up with the mechanics and he can write the fluff.

I guess I should probably post a response now that it's been a few days... I think I have one of Sudo's "escape gems", and it's probably going to be necessary to get running ASAP unless I want to hand over or destroy Eltirian's soul gem.

What exactly did those escape gems do, do I have one for certain (C2?), and how long does it take one of them to get me out of the reach of an angry
Cisharni with a superiority complex?

They turn you into a very fast gust of wind. One of them was good enough to let me escape Quiz the first time we met.
Speaking of which, my conversation with him is likely to be very interesting...

Does your character sheet say you have one? But if he was given one by Wavebringer way back when, then he has one. But in mind it was used right in front of a Cisharni, they might have developed a counter to that specific spell.

Apparently everything we make is going to be used once, or used only when accompanied by the protective cover of incredible paranoia.

Certainly. It's an arms race. We can use it and then develop a counter to that counter.

And counters to a wind-form spell are easy to come by. An arcane device known as a vacuum comes to mind.

Hmm I guess so? One of the themes is trying to overcome these godlike Immortals. They wouldn’t be dangerous if they couldn’t adapt to magic. Upon discovery of a spell that grants incredible mobility to their enemies, something to counter it would be high on the priority list, paticularly when used in front of a Cisharni.

And of course it isn’t useless. Sudo could probably have used it on the battlefield after being hit, and merge into the smoke from the battlefield fires. Used again in front of a Cisharni already wary of an attack, and maybe prepared with a counter, the same spell is not as useful.

Let's put it this way: If we had a Cisharni that could turn into smoke at the drop of a hat, we'd be mighty pissed at the GM if he didn't allow us to break out the vacuum cleaners.

And for that matter, when we die, we can lock our soul onto another host. Who's to say that the Cisharni can't do the same, and that our victories over them stuck at all?

The Cisharni, for one, who were mightily pissed when the Secondborn was killed, and acted as if they no longer had access to his opinions.
And after all, even if nothing else, all their skills are gone. Those are a large part of their advantage over us.

If we had a Cisharni who could turn into smoke, I'd be mad at C2 for copying me.

Don't worry too much about the one mistake, Smoke Mirrors. Your character was memorable for all the demonology and story writing.

I’m running a game/mechanics test called Fate/Mechanics Test. Feel free to check it out.

I'd hope that despite the Inquisitor's INCREDULOUS terms, we'd actually have some bearing on the Prince, having upgraded his lands by a metric ton -.- (I mean I also hope my actions alongside my Nu-Sindari aren't useless too!)

Go against them, Glass! Those are HORRIBLE terms, and commonly the first terms delivered are usually the heaviest.

Please, people, don't just tell me not to accept these terms. Tell me what to say, and what to counter-offer. I get that these are not the terms we should accept. But I don't know what we should accept/propose, and I know damn well that just saying "we shouldn't accept this" without giving an alternative will only lead to Bad StuffTM.

Make a border; we stay in China, we have proof that the plague IS BECAUSE OF THE CISHARNI and we can show it. I did flavor in fluff about some kind of magic-discs that act like hologram projectors depicting such--you can fluff bringing one of them to help depict proof.

That's the last resort offer--China is the borderline; we're here to stay. Issue terms of communication with the Cisharni too, with bearing from Sind, and probably issue vague warnings that catch their attention (i.e. we aren't the only major powers here, there is a danger to the west), which makes sense because 'hey uncharted lands :B', and can be regarded as idle musings.

Alongside that, it can be noted that we know they've been spying in China and planning a coup for the Dragon Emperor (at least, we got their spy anyway, you have Serrana [forgot spelling sorry]). We have proof of better living conditions all around. You even have proof of links between Orion and Artemis; call them out! (Oh and that thing with Turangol? That too; the GM has never mentioned mindlinks but that's all implied since forever -.-). I'm not sure what terms are most acceptable but we can make a roll on insight for terms delivered.
