Fighting Retreat
Efficacy: 5
War is not one through bravery and assault alone, and teaching our officers that discretion can be the better part of valor goes quite well. While the Marine officer core celebrates courage and tenacity, they're also intelligent enough to know when to regroup and lick their wounds- and the new tactical doctrine makes the enemy pay for every inch given up when in retreat. While this will occasionally expose a few men to return fire, our men should be able to break away clean as long as our men have superior range and at least an equal ability to detect the enemy. Importantly, this also teaches our captains to know when to 'know when to hold them', so that good defensive positions are fully utilized during retreats.

In the field, we may be able to draw retreats out over an extended period of time while inflicting casualties on the enemy, particularly if the squads are equipped with weapons well suited to the task.

It is now the Production, Deployment, and Tactics Phase.

Remember, you must vote on your decision for the Star-Crossed lovers event.

Spire Kasgyre's production stands at,
13/y Crystal, 34/65 Banked
17/y Ore, 17/85 banked
19/y Wood, 35/95 banked
10/y Silk, 42/50 banked

As I mentioned (before realizing that coverage was less sorry than I thought) I vote A.

Voting B for the star crossed lovers. It is FAR too risky for option A, and if they have the same mind to get the extra die we can get one over on them.

Regardless of what else we do,  we should spend two silk on something,  otherwise we'll start wasting it.

Strategy wise,  I suggest pulling back the sky skiffs in Wrethi territory. They've done their job of attracting attention away from the Three Captains and leaving them there will be their death. Instead we should start investing in a few heavy marine squads to reinforce next turn. I'd quite like to be able to send in at least one squad that is fully armored too. Nothing quite like no selling everything but their cannon.

Like I said, it's rock paper scissors. Which is most valuable - dice, resources, or plans? Plus C gives nothing if both sides. I went for A because I like dice, and being the good guy.

Resources are vital, and being able to bring more to the fore could give us a critical edge against Wreth. As much as there is a moral victory in being the good guy, moral victories are nothing if it allows the enemy to gain critical information on us.

Voting A

We should do another pincer attack now. 2 vipers & 2 skiffs coming from home. 3 skiffs coming in from behind.
I think that should be more than enough using ambush tactics.

Next turn we bring in reinforcements we outfit this turn. Lots of gauntlets I think.

Do we have armor on the ships yet? We should put armor on the ships.

Are we seriously going to risk letting the enemy know EVERYTHING about us? Even if it was just turn them knowing our tactics in detail would be the death of us.

Strategy:
[1] Operation Salted Earth: Kashyyk

And here is my suggestion for a strategy:

Operation Salted Earth
All marines use Fighting Retreat
Serpintus, Pythonidae and both skyskiffs at Kasgyre move to Three Captains. All are to use Airborne Ambush Manoeuvres
Three skiffs in Wrethi territory move to Blackstone. Two are to use Scouting. The rest use AAM.
Produce one ream of webbing (so we don't go overcapacity on silk)

We should probably spend some resources on refitting the empty hulls. The first major refit now takes a turn so the sooner we do that the sooner we can deploy those Vipers.

Yeah, getting the Anguis repaired and refitted would be a good idea, and maybe laying down another Viper hull would be good as well.

Well, I'm going to go have lunch and watch an eclipse. I'll kick the turn along when I come back. If people want to make any official modifications to plans, now would be the time.

I'm happy with Kashyyk's strategic plan and here's my production plan:
Quote from: rearmament
Equip the unnamed Viper hull with following
10xKettle Guns
1xMedium Core
1xBasic Lift Crystal (small)
6x Trim Crystals +(6 from storage)
6x Webbing
2x Plating
-----------------
Total spent: 34c, 16o, 0w, 12s
It'll should be ready next turn and unless I misunderstand the rules we'll be able to do minor refits like adding the armour next turn without taking up an action.
