Turn two
Saraket: Shields, no negative modifier. Experiment of testing materials :2 You test various materials for shields, but upon discovering a great material that could be used for shields (you decide), an excited flap of your wings sends a fusion generator flying and before you know it there is a minor explosion and the material you need is all destroyed. But at least you know what it is! (A rare metal or nonmetal.) Still +0 towards the invention, but you have a greater chance of a successful experiment.
Admiral Katsuo: -3 to ceasefire negotiations due to hostilities and the boarding of their battlecruiser. What do you offer them, what are your bargaining points? (Will take at least 3 good ones, but more than that will give you bonus points to negotiations.
Captain Deepbloom: Your transmission reaches the Hera, and that data is sent over. A response is received. “Excellent work, Captain! There is going to be a medal in this for you! For now, don’t move on the pirate base, President wants to know what is going on around the rebel planet. Leave a survey ship to keep tabs on the pirates, however.
Gumo: First experiment: 6 (giving you +2) You manage to create a true wireless signal in between the rudimentary “nanocomputers you have made so far. Total modifier for nano counters: 0
Do you decide to create the first version of nano computers, or continue with an experiment?
Eglan: First experiment: 1 Upon entering Bay 11, you are greeted with sight of instead of a fully insulated room, one that has been fully stripped of any and all kind of insulation. Your assistants can offer no explanation except that he must have misheard you.
2nd experiment: 3+1=4 You decide anyways to test another miniature version against a mechanical dummy. Using very small amount of ditanium, you put model of the gun onto a model ship, and fired. It worked out pretty well, frying the wiring of the dummy, but it required a lot of power to do so. Probably too much for a handheld version unless you try to pursue cutting down the power requirements later. +1 to your project.
Tav Kelleran: You make a few jumps to make sure that no one connects you to the Randiri fleet. When you jump in and make your way to Marien VI, (5) no one questions your story of being an independent trader. When you land at the main port of Marien VI, in the city of New Ridgem you attempt to make contacts with with the local black market. (6+1). Which you easily do. You are quickly brought to the local crime boss, who seems eager to make trades and is excited to make a contact with a someone with has a fast ship. You (and the fleet) gain a bonus of +10 to “shady” or exotic goods.
James Avalon: Back at the Hera, you make plans to fight the pirates. The first step to doing that is getting your ship repaired. You fill out the necessary forms, and the shipyards of the Hera are set to work on the Valravn, using 750 units of metal and 450 inorganic material. It will be ready by next week (next turn).
How do you bring the fight to the pirates?
Amelia: You are able to have a quick repair of the Tiamat done at the cost of 250 metal, and 125 inorganic material. Total material costs so far are 1000 metal and 600 inorganic to repair the ships. Due to Tav Kelleran’s efforts you are able to send an unmarked cargo ship to Marien VI to trade (20,000 units space). You can get material worth up to +20 for “free”, due to your IC worth, but any higher than that costs 1 IC per each 10 points.
Yzari Redbranch: You organize your troops, and order them to prepare traps throughout the ship. (6) Your men take to the action, with gusto, organizing mines, tripwires, killzones. When the enemy comes, they will be in a world of hurt.
(6+2) The Dominion marines come in waves from their boarding ships, only to be cut down by cleverly hidden machine gun nest. They attempt to flank the nests, only to blown apart by explosive mines. Once they clear the mines with enough bodies, they enter the machine gun nests only to find them empty, and a proximity mine. The Dominion marines only make it halfway through the traps your men have set up, and having lost hundreds of men, they have no heart to continue any further. They withdraw to the docking bays, terrified and much reduced in number, leaving behind scores of bodies.
The command crew you brought over from the frigate tells you that they can redirect power to either the weapons or the engines. What do you choose, and where do you go?
Admiral Marloss: Once you are boarded, you give the order to surrender the ship. Dominion marines round up the surviving crew members and bring them to the docking bay. You and your command staff are then boarded aboard a shuttle, destined for the capital planet.
