Don't worry - RNG and my imagination can eventually put you against for example a demonic prince, legendary demon, god, super powerful monster that'd be on par if not stronger than you...
Or implings. Goodness knows another impling swarm could probably lay a smackdown on any of us from their mimicry.
F*** implings.

Then again, I don't think they can copy my plant control, my frost aura, or the dragon form. And I want to see what happens if one of the demonologists bind one. How long does the copying ability last?

Implings can copy everything. Copying ability is passive - no toggling, no cooldowns. Implings - technically level 0, but still OP.

Demonologist has bonded an impling and casts a massive fire storm dealing 400 damage at part of zombie mob. Impling mimics his spell at another part, dealing other 400 damage and frying rest of the mob. There is a trade-off that you can't completely control impling, so it can fry you as well, or try something really stupid.

Looks like we're waiting only for Wolfchild again. I'll update tomorrow.

But once they copy an ability, can they use that ability for the rest of forever?

EDIT: Also, idea for an ability: "Impling Master". Can bind Implings for a reduced cost, and bound implings do not hurt allies with their attacks.

Yes, they know it till death - which is quick, they have only 10 HP. Copying is not always working though, so it can't always mimic attacks.

Nothing wrong with that ability - it'd work, but won't protect allies from AoE or splash damage, only from direct attacks.

You can only bind one demon, and you'd need a skill that can bond them, like the one demonologist has. Lysander improved his version to bind more, but at increased costs.

A question is, what would happen if you bind one impling, and another one binds you?

XD oh boy, that'd be interesting
Though if it's similar to how you bind them, then they can't control you (same way that you can't control them).

What happens if you manage to keep a bound impling long enough to level it up? Would it keep its copied abilities?

Implings - technically level 0, but still OP.
They might be demonic, but at least they're not spiders.

TROPES!

Now I want to make my next level-up ability one that lets me copy abilities that I've seen used, same as an impling.

They are more like goddamned bats than demonic spiders, they attack in groups and are very weak but still incredibly annoying thanks to that mimic ability.

I love how, despite the fact that the Bay12 forums don't have anything to do with TvTropes, we still all know this stuff well enough to be nitpicky about it. But I'm going to have to go with the implings being closer to demonic spiders; it's always hell to not be able to use your best attacks because your enemies will copy you.

Oh shit we could have a impling learn all of our skills and have it kill every god in the world.

And this is why I want someone to bind an impling.

Could someone take, on level-up, the ability "Impling Follower: You have an impling that follows you around and helps you fight! If it dies, a new one takes its place."?

Prob Lysander, he is the kind of guy who would have an army of followers. Might want to change it so the skills are remembered and not lost if it dies.

That... that would be equivalent to just having an immortal Impling. Maybe you'd lose it for a couple turns while I new one arrived.

And also: what? It's dead. You get a new Impling. How would the new Impling "remember" the old one's copied skills?

If an Impling can remember skills, you would want it to know as many as possible and make it an unstoppable murder machine. But they have 10 HP and when it dies all progress will be lost with said impling, as the next one will not remember the dead impling skills.
