Much as I like knowing what snow dwarf's lands are like I would dearly love to know what goes on inside my own.

Would it be possible to fund a project to manufacture evidence (in case it's ever needed in the future) that the envoy was killed by the raids of the creatures from the north before he made his demands to us? Like say, reports that travelers fitting his description were found among the dead. Maybe destroying his convoy and hiding the remains in a swamp nearby or something to be found by investigators eventually?

Would I be correct in assuming that the tax is on our income before expenses?

Not 100% you didn't, where exactly did my other soldiers go? I know about the scouting party but I sent only one unit not two.

The Republic was in an uproar. Their lands being invaded by both creatures from the north and bureaucrats from the east?!? It couldn't be stood for. The army marched forth, ready to sacrifice as many of the lower caste as needed to insure the security of the republic. As for the issue of the taxman, the other crisis seemed too offer it's own potential solution to that as well...

((I have no idea if 100 is within the ballpark for acceptable cash levels for murdering and faking evidence... For all I know it could be way too high or way too low. But I guess I'll find out.))

With the introduction of art, more and more people leave their small villages for the greater cities of the kingdom.
Hearing the tales told by the soldiers of the powerful creatures living around the small island, a cult is created worshipping the sea serpents.

As the Imperial Envoy had stated his case, the Grand Marshal looked up from the heap of maps she was studying. She never so much as had a throne room as a Strategy Room that was used for the same purpose. She looked at the man with pitying eyes for a moment before talking to the two guards within the room.

I am afraid the Envoy had a terrible accident on his way back, his ship came into a storm and he went overboard.

((Hah, I missed the tax and nobody mentioned it to me other than me re-reading >_>
Tax orders are at the top/bold. The rest in italics are flavor.))

The Alliance hears news of North Maver; and proposes sending its troops as aid and defense of its Tiefling allies.
Until a quick messenger notified that the Tieflings would prefer national troops stay on alert rather than on-aid.

After some deliberation and thoroughness, it had seemed the danger was deeper than a localized occurrence.

Spoiler: Public Tax Fluff (click to show/hide)

Tax Situation: Cite the legal claim that personal, ancestral aristocratic land is exempt from tax and that tax revenues are based off the last census taken 8 years ago (prior to the agricultural restoration).  Given that this raises a figure of £25 p.a. (the pure Cotton income) the Principality of Pork is quite happy to pay 20% of that figure for the last five years - or £25.  This is, of course, perfectly in line with Boar's Peak's earnings as recorded in the last census.  In short, bury the tax assessor in legalese.

NB:  Spend up to £75 on hiring top-notch tax lawyers to push this through, for a total expense of £100.
