I'm more interested in that figurine. It appears to have the abdomen of a preying mantis, a humanoid posture, and the nose of an aardvark. Must be a titan or forgotten beast. They probably fought it off with the dagger Tributescar. If there is more of the story to learn from the figurine we could deduce our objective's location.

Better yet, now that we have gold we can walk right into their tavern, claim to be a visiting mercenary, buy a dwarven rum, and ask about local artifacts. We can be stealthy by moving in plain sight, because kobolds are just that good at it!

There's more to be done here, surely.

But if we're going to wander out, first spend some time carving upon a sarcophagus our best approximation of the words "I shall return!"...

Inscribe one of those tablets into a headstone for Bembul. They will have no end of confusion when they decide to make one and find that one already exists...

We speak splendidly. Whether the close-minded dwarves choose to listen and appreciate the poetry of utterances is on them.

I vote for another draw-and-post for the tablet! Like the barrel! Also, continue looting things! Be sure to scoot!

Or go to the local temple and use our incredible engraving skills to forgery on up a message from Armok stating that kobolds are now to be considered friends of dwarves.

That's actually a great idea since so many people want engravings.

Succession Engraving Time

Add your own engravings to the above image and leave room for others to do the same to your image!

Uhh, Can you upload it not as a JPG?
The pixels are all jumbled together.

I will post an engraving shortly.

EDIT:
What do kobolds eat when they don't have mantis jerky?

Bone marrow of course! or cookies, depending on if they can acquire them.
Oh no! the sharp rock slipped and cracked the stone tablet a bit, maybe it will create another shape?
