Ed will send a group with Tala to the industrial buildings with instructions not to linger if they don't find any Frenchies. Carolina can go with Tala for now. Rendesvouz point is the intersection just south of the orange houses between Denver and Bob's current location and the harbor.

Ed will attempt to give Simon directions on how to meet up with the rest of us, and will lead the rest of his group to meet up with Bob and Denver. Let's get a look in that truck.

"Oh wait!" Ed proclaims, stopping dead in his tracks for a moment. "I know how to operate a tank! I bet that could be useful. Hmm."

Welcome aboard. Would you like to appear with Simon and his tank or Ed and his cluster of meandering soldiers?

Wow, I got out of the Nazi area without even being attacked?  Awesome.  Start shouting over the radio, informing everyone of the fact that he stole a tank.  Single-handedly.  With a knife.

...Also mention some stuff about the Nazi presence, fortifications, and lightning magic, but mostly the tank.  Ask the NPCs not to shoot at the tank, or at least to only shoot with small arms if they want Simon to stop.  Drive back into town until I can link back up with Allied forces.

Edit: Actually, do we have something like an unencrypted emergency communication channel?  A WWII nerd said that we probably should have something like that, in OOC.  If so, I guess Simon will communicate over that channel, so people can actually give him directions and don't need to shoot at him to communicate.

...And let Alice in when she comes, regardless of whether she's shooting or just asking nicely or whatever.

"Hey!  Guys, guys!  I'm back from scouting, and I have a TANK now!  Like, a fully equipped, undamaged, grade-A Nazi killing machine!  I stabbed the whole crew, so now it's mine, nobody else's, but I could really use a driver, and maybe a gunner, beca--agh no!" Simon's excited shouting is interrupted by crumbling, smashing sounds.  He starts talking again a few seconds later "Don't worry, don't worry, I'm fine!  Just missed the road again, like I said, I need a driver.  Oh, and there's a lot of Nazis around the north, they're mostly staying away from our territory, but there's a lot of them, and they had a tank, haha!  The fort's also pretty damn bunkered up, and the Nazis have this awesome machine-gun-lightning-control thingy or something, but I don't think they know how to aim it, it was hitting really close to their own guys.  Maybe they don't care about the grunts, I'unno.  Oh, and guys, I can't hear you, everything just sounds like this most ungodly scree--woah, woah that was close!  Uh.  Yeah, can't hear, so if you want me to stop just, like, ping some bullets off the roof.  It's okay, I'm in a tank!  I don't care about piddly little bullets anymore!  Hahaha!"

You drive back into allied territory, bragging over the radio the entire time. They eventually ask you to stop and show yourself so they know you are who you say you are. You get out and do some blood splattered flexing and waving. They apparently believe you because no one shoots at you. A few people even clap. Its not quite a ticker tape parade but you'll take it.

After sending a last burst of shots at the fleeing soldiers, Bob waited for an all clear before approaching the vehicle.

"Nice work. Let's pull this thing off the main road, behind a house or something, in case they come back with more guns and we need to retreat. Once we've got it a bit aways from here, we can check the back."

"Oh! Right." Bob fiddled with the dials on his radio a bit, to broadcast a message. "This is Bob and Denver here, Bob and Denver. We just engaged a small squad with a truck. Took down all except two, who fled. We're on a north south road, and might be bringing the truck down south a bit and sticking it behind a house. If we can."

((As usual, tell me if you've got better plans!))
Once the fleeing Nazis are out of sight, and Denver gives an all clear, head over to the truck, and try to help move it a little down the road, then off to the side. Maybe behind a house if possible. Be the driver, since +2 to cars!

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Denver grinned wildly as he waited for Bob to get in. "Let's get moving so we can check the back. And not get hit by lightning."

Reload while Bob gets in, then drive South close to the teams are, dismount and check the back before getting at least two houses away.

((My plan, let me know if you don't like.))

Spoiler: Denver Gaunt (click to show/hide)
Bob checks the back of the truck while Denver drives them south, down near the rest of the team and behind a house. In the back of the truck Bob finds about a dozen sealed metal crates, about a dozen unsealed metal crates, and 4 people. One is dead, laying splayed out on the ground and partially vivisected. The other three are bound up in a corner of the truck bed, hands bound and chained to the floor. They look like they're either civilians or resistance fighters and they speak to you in french.

"Oh hey Simon! Yeah, I'll go ping you and drive. Can't be too hard, right?"

Go find Simon's tank and fire my pistol at the turret till he lets me in. Then maybe fix his radio so that it works properly on allied frequencies.
Also stuff that coffee maker into my pack. Loot is loot, right?

Spoiler: Alice! (click to show/hide)
You stick the coffee maker setup, crude though it is, into your bag and hoof it back over to the allied area. Simon lets you into his tank after only a few warning shots and a big of vigorous swearing. [6] You modify the radio to work on both public and encrypted private channels.

Hmm."

Spoiler: Edward Bohring (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: mission briefing (click to show/hide)

You radio Simon your location as best you can and then head over to the truck where Denver and Robert are hanging around.  You also send Tala, along with several others, to go investigate the industrial plant.

((dibs on the bow gun of the tank, it's the most fortified position around if it's a Panzer V or better.))
"Do we know this guy with the tank? Like, is he with our little detachment? Ask him if he can spare some HE shells, I know what they look like, and I can make one hell of a trip wire with one of those things, especially if it's one of the 88's."
technically I will know what an HE shell looks like, (anyone as experienced in IED's as my guy is can ID HE from AP) but if this is a viable action can I roll dice for 'acquiring' some HE shells out of the Panzer?
Do me two favors: first, post your sheet when you do an action so I know what to roll for you. Second, only post one action post, either cross out old actions or consolidate them into a single post. Otherwise I'm not sure if you want to do all those things, or if the newer post is supposed to replace the older one or what.

Also, you're nowhere near the panzer, you're down south with Ed, Simon is way up north. Though I'm sure some driving and walking could quickly fix that. As per explosives in the houses you didn't see anything out of the ordinary but its a fair guess that they have reasonable amounts of oil and flour in their homes since those are fairly mundane items.

"Huh. A tank. Good for him."
"Like they said, keep moving to the fort. That storm does not bode well, especially the longer we take. That tank will be a very overt...thing, but good for Simon for acquiring one without getting blown up or hurt! I'll go take a quick check at the industrial area and report back."

Tala went over and radio'd over to Simon.

"Do you have eyes on anything there? We were told a while ago that there are other allied positions or troops in the area. When someone else gets in there, please get the radio working, and probably a good driver..."

Run over to the industrial buildings and try to spot anything particularly important from the outside, and then take a peep inside.

Spoiler: My Sheet (click to show/hide)
"I think we should all be heading to the fort, before the storm comes and kills us before the nazis get the chance to."

I picked all of the unclaimed knives of the undefined amount of knives, was hoping to get a specific number of knives.

Go with Tala group th the industrial buildings.

Spoiler: William Taggart (click to show/hide)
Follow Ed. Do whatever I’m told to do for now.
Spoiler: Carolina (click to show/hide)
Apparently its three knives you got.

The group of Tala, Carolina and William head out to inspect the industrial area. They wander around a fair bit, looking through rather boring and incomprehensible industrial equipment before they come across a warehouse that has been chained shut on the inside. When they try to open the door it refuses to move more than an inch or two and they can hear the chains rattling inside. Hmm.

An enormous bolt of lightning strikes the bunker up on top of the hill. It seems to linger there for several seconds before dissipating.

Radio for an interpreter. attempt to communicate with the Frenchies and get them out of the back of the truck. I have mechanics tools, they should be useful in this situation.

((get's into bloodied truck with terrifed foreigners, brandishin bolt cutters and a screwdriver))

"Check out these crates. See if they are more organs, or something else."

Ed's head turns toward the hilltop.

"I don't like the sound of that. Gonna be trouble up there. Unless they are tying up loose ends. But if they were, these wouldn't still be here, I think."

Bob stated slowly, in fractured French, "C'est bon. Nous sommes ici pour aider. Je suis américain."

Attempt to communicate with the civilians in the back. Inspect the cargo for any labels and try to read, then help the civs out when we arrive. Same question as Doomblade, how much ammo did Bob use?

((Bob's got some language points, he should be decently okay for this already))

When the back of the truck is opened, Bob waved at Ed with a free hand. "Hello Ed! How've things been?"

"Let's keep moving. They know the truck is missing."

Escort the crew talking to the Frenchpeople, and the Frenchpeople to a house at least a block away, not leaving cover. Carry the vivisected body with me. How much ammo do I have left? Also, I will now claim my smg from Ed - a German smg as much ammo as he will spare, at least 10 bullets.

"Oh, sweet, Alice!  You've got tons of experience driving stolen German stuff, can you take over while I loot these guys?" Simon shoots a friendly smile at Alice, before making a sweeping gesture towards the bloody corpses that share the tank with him.  Then he notices that his trench knife is still stuck in the loader, next to him, and unceremoniously yanks the blade out before wiping the blood off on the dead man's clothes.  "I wanna get at their junk before all the magpies descend on it, you know how things go.  Driving's super simple, really.  Those two levers and that pedal and sometimes the button over there generally make it go more-or-less forward, and if things start going wham-wham-wham flick that switch a few times and sometimes it goes away, and uhh, that button, and that button, and that lever especially, ahh...  Just don't touch those ones, I think they're bad.  Maybe actually not that lever, maybe the other one, or...?  Oh, you'll figure it out, you're smart!  Thanks, Alice!  You're a real lifesaver."

Ask Alice to take over the tank's controls, wiping some blood off the seat first to be polite.  Then get to looting the three dead Nazi crewmembers; I know the loader had a pistol, at the very least, what about the others?  Any first aid kits?  Or anything occult?  It's a pity Simon threw the commander out of the hatch, he probably had something neat.

Oh, and if any randos try climbing in and stealing my tank's ammunition, wave the trench knife in their face and gesture to the Nazi corpses who have matching wounds all over their bodies.  Edit2: And don't let him in the tank to begin with.  Best he gets is riding on top.

Edit: Also, what kind of tank is it?  Simon might not know, but my curiousity has become too great not to ask.

Edit3: Tell Alice to drive to Ed's group.  Or whatever group has the biggest blob of people.  I haven't really paid attention to what the neener-nanners have been up to.

EDIT4: The Belgian with the horrible accent is also banned from entering the tank.  Broadly Simon's just not gonna let in anyone who doesn't know how to operate the thing, and has never met him before.  You don't let just anyone into your tank!  That's what got the last crew killed!

EDIT FIVE:  I am sorry for my textwally ways, Piecewise, but it seems like a fair number of people want to hop in the tank, and I'm not sure which skills are actually useful to sort them by.  I also don't know how much you care to stick to the actual seating rules of WWII tanks.  From a cursory glance over various Wikipedia articles, it seems there's five positions in virtually all Nazi tanks.  Matched with the skills I presume they'd have to use:
  • Driver, who drives the tank and would use Tank skill
  • Commander, who tells other people what to do, and will probably be Simon, firing his sniper rifle from the commander's hatch.  No skill because we don't roll for commands.
  • Radio Operator, who also operates the bow machine gun.  Would use Operator and Machine Gun skills.
  • Gunner, who fires the main gun, and probably also the coaxial machine gun.  Uses, I assume, the Explosives and Machine Gun skills, and not Tank.
  • Loader, who loads shells into the main gun and will therefore be slaved to whoever operates the gun.  Uses Medical skill to get themselves high, because that's the only way they'll have any fun.  (They should really get to fire the coaxial machine gun as if it were separate from the main cannon, c'mon)

Is that all correct?

((I'm not very good at this, Soz. Generally if I post multiple action posts, it's because I want to do the one thing and then I see something else happen (such as Simon getting a tank filled with potential tripwire mines) and want in on it, because I'm thinking too fast for myself))

this action overrides previous action post: try and explain that I can put HE shells to better use, since they're practically useless against tanks. I like my odds. If Simon doesn't agree, then I jump in as the bow gunner, otherwise take 4 shells and use 2 to set up a nice tripwire trap somewhere convenient, and keep the others

"Oh yeah Simon, I know exactly how to drive this. It's not like tanks control totally different from planes or anything.
...Which is to say, yeah I can do it. Would probably be easier if this were some kind of spooky experimental nazi lightning tank or something? Why didn't you just steal one of those, Simon?

Uh, on an unrelated note, where are we going, exactly?"

Alright, let's drive this tank! Can't be that hard, right? Just drive wherever Commander Simon says, for now. ("just drive it to, like, Ed or Tala or whatever.")
"Ahh, nice to get behind the controls of a proper vehicle again. Nice thing about tanks, you know; crashing into things is way less dangerous than in a car! For the people inside, anyways."

Also, if that one guy actually manages to get inside the tank and speech roll Simon into giving up our precious loot, counter speech roll that.

Spoiler: Alice! (click to show/hide)

((I bet 75 GLORY that I'll die inside this tank during this mission. Anyone want to take me up on that?))

"I just didn't see any, I guess you've got better luck with occult Nazi vehicles.  Maybe there'll be something nice up in the fort we can hijack, that'd be awesome!  Ohhh, imagine if we found another big cargo plane, we could stuff the tank into it, and then drive it out with a parachute next time we raid a secret Nazi base!  That'd just be awesome, I can already imagine the Nazis' faces when a TANK parachutes into the middle of their base and starts shooting at them!"

"...Oh, and just drive it to, like, Ed or Tala or whatever.  I've been away from a radio, I'unno what to do with it really.  Maybe they will?"

again, Redjive, you are nowhere near Simon and the tank. Opposite sides of our little map.
You may have noticed that I am a very forgetful gent (slams face into desk due to anger at self) alright, this one I'll lock in, overrides previous posts:
Follow orders given to me in as cautious a fashion as possible. Upon arrival of Simon in his panzer, introduce myself and ask to 'Borrow' 4 of his HE shells for a bit. If he says no, ask to be one his MG operators instead. EDIT: Also, as time allows, check houses for flammable sand explosives. When whenever we stop for more than 2 minutes make a note of which buildings have more flammable a in them, per my 'why shoot when you can make traps? strategy.
"Hey Ed? What do you think my odds are of getting this Simon fellow to give up some of his HE shells, assuming he gets here of course. It's not like he needs them to fight tanks, after all. I'll bet you 2 cigarettes I get him to give 'em up; I've got a cunning plan, y'see."

((You'll find out wot it is soon enough. EDIT whoops forgot I wasn't with her now.))
