Await explosions, ready Luger for shooting leftover Nazis. In cover of course, like a good ambusher.

"Everyone get ready and be quiet! Shoot whatever survives the bombs!

Right now the plan is to kill these Nazis. We're still trying to find some Frenchies to give us info on the bunker. We'll regroup wit hthe others after, but we can't wait out the storm. It ain't natural. We're gonna hafta kill it."

With [Leodanny's character] as her aide and spotter, Tala mentions to Edward (and Radioman) that the storm could likely be a cover front for the Nazi resupply and rearmament, or counterattack to the Allied forces.

She deeply suggests as an order to be patient with the assault before commencing attack, to pick your targets, and to take note of important persons of note. The attack will be sounded by...a birdwhistle, much like how the rain isn't affecting them right now, right before the explodey time.

"I've everything in sight. On your mark, Edward."

Ambush time! Use birdwhistle to accompany before the explosives.
Leodanny's guy is helping me snipe, if he lacks a sniper rifle, in probably my attack roll or recover to fire and shoot again.

Ah![ oh wait, you ain't Nazis. Spaced out a moment there.
help tala snipe, I guess
He is ordered to throw a gas grenade if that would aid our assault, if possible--unless there is rain above the convoy site.

Wait for the ambush to start and the others to attack, then jump and scream like a madman while spewing fire in the direction of the nazis with my flamethrower

Moniter the radio, and keep watching. Start singing a little song as I make it up about a brave hero who has to watch a house.

Definitely Nazis. Light 'em up when the time comes.

Let's shoot some turkey-looking kraut fuckers, Jack says, a wicked grin on his face.

I'll assume it's too late for latecomers, and observe with amusement as a WW2 nerd.

I'll assume it's too late for latecomers, and observe with amusement as a WW2 nerd.
Sure, just be aware I don't know a lot about WWII so I will probably make mistakes.

Crawl across the open field under the cover of rain, once fairly close to the houses, stand up and draw the trench knife in case of surprise Nazi.  Assuming no Nazis, head south into the woods, and then start traveling west, parallel to the treeline but not too close.  Eventually Simon will cross back over into that patch of forest between the black roofed houses and the reddish ones, to scout out those buildings.

Since this wasn't specified last turn, how steep is the northern slope, and how heavily fortified?  Could the whole team reasonably get up there, to avoid the killzone that is the eastern side?  Or if not, could a small, stealthier team make it up to flank or disable guns?

Edit: If a lone Nazi is encountered, Simon will try to knock him unconscious, rather than murdering from the getgo.  Murder is a valid solution to multiple Nazis, though.

((Very tempted to have Simon stealth his way up and start clearing bunkers with his knife.  But that's not teamwork, bah...))

The northern slope is much steeper than the more west facing side, starting with a 25 foot sheer cliff before a steep slope up to the top. Getting a whole team up there would be possible but difficult, especially if you're trying to remain incognito.

You lay face down and drag yourself forward, sliding slowly through the grass until you make it to the back of the nearest building. You draw your knife and are about to continue when you notice that the blade is arcing, little glowing sparks dancing along its length.  You look around and back at the pair of houses you were intent on running to. One, which is taller than the other, is alight in saint elmo's fire. and crackling with discharges. The world seems to go silent and suck in a breath before the house is struck by lightning. Not once, but some dozen times in such rapid succession that they might as well have been instantaneous, one massive bolt.  The house detonates like it was hit by a 1000 lb bomb, exploding into a cloud of wooden shrapnel.
[1v4][life -2, after helmet bonus]
A spray of wooden knives slam into you; a few manage to hit tip first and embed theselves inches into your arm, leg and side. The shockwave knocks you to the ground an instant later.

Moniter the radio, and keep watching. Start singing a little song as I make it up about a brave hero who has to watch a house.

Edit: If I have to manually trigger the explosions, do so when the vehicles are on top of them - first vehicle in convoy is priority.

Edit 2, also, if I need to signal the others to begin, do that too. I'd assumed that the explosions would be signal enough, though.

Ed waits till the convoy is directly over the explosive and then detonates it. At this point things become a bit confused. The blast lifts the first truck at the same time it snaps it in half and throws it backwards. It lands on the cab of the truck behind it and then the team starts firing at anyone left standing. Bullets tear through the air and the nazis fall in the crossfire. They jerk and twitch as bullets tear them apart from multiple angles, blowing out sprays of red as they fall.  Then Will opens up with his flame thrower and in one sweep covers the entire scene in burning jellied gasoline. The last few nazis stagger, screaming or oddly silent, out of the inferno and collapse. Everything grows silent save for the patter of rain and the constant thunder.

After crossing the street, Bob used his clicket to signify to anyone near enough that he was retreating. After that, he'd wait a bit before moving south again through the trees next to the road.

Signal to Denver that Bob is moving out, then wait to meet up. Then head south in the trees along the road, BAR out. Radio out to Main group telling them what we're doing

"The hell was that?" Bob muttered at the sound of explosions. A little concerned, he broadcasted over the radio: "You alright over there? Heard some explosions."

"Anyway, I'm thinking we'll turn east now, start trying to get in a bit closer to the fort, alright?"

Cross the road and head east with Denver. Make sure to look both ways before crossing roads, and be ready to shoot if seen by enemies.

Allow me to just clarify that it is in fact far too late for me to join?
At some unknown point in the future i.e. mission after this one?
I've finally found a ww2 thread for RTD so I would greatly appreciate being able to join.

Report results back to base. Then, Carefully peek out to see if any retaliation is coming, if not go see if there's anything to loot at the scene of the carnage. Make sure to bring my pipe in case magic storm lightning needs to be grounded.

Oh. Alright. The spoiler tagged post is the one with my resume, as it were. Unless someone thinks there is any sort of need for a specific class (i.e. AT specialist etc.) I'm a 'not getting shot doing something brave is the better part of valour' rifleman.
EDIT: I'll just drop it here, actually
