A sword as a landing craft is silly. Swords move from side-to-side a lot. A landing ship and a spear are both inclined to make a fast and straight approach so as to better breach smoothly and push deeply, so gaining a solid position from which they cannot easily be dislodge by the adversary's actions.

Swords inside a landing ship is a plausible option, but swords as a landing ship? Pure nonsense!

So, my goal here is the safest possible revision that actually lets us land, so that hopefully the difficulty wont go up and screw us over.  I think totally overhauling the AS-CV22 with modern propulsion and redistribution of the propulsion systems is asking for trouble.

A revised AS-CV22 with the draft of the bow reduced to be better suited to being beached safely.  The bow opens with two sealed landing doors and deploys a ramp.  The interior of the cargo ship is retrofitted to carry armored vehicles and infantry to be deployed out of the bow doors.  Doctrinally, during landings the deck will be loaded with land based weaponry to help support landing operations.  Basically this is intended as a way to facilitate the deployment of tanks during amphibious landings.

UF-LST22-42 "Wooden Spear": This is a lander based on the AS-CV22 hull, which has large clamshell doors on the bow and a keel capable of beaching safely. On the lower deck with direct ramp access, there is space for four vehicles, and above there are living quarters to support infantry. The clamshell doors are prone to being wedged shut on the sand when the ship beaches itself, which can make exiting the ship extremely difficult. They also leak constantly and require pumping, if the pumps fail for any reason the ship is endangered.

Plan Diplomatic Incident:
Herr Himmler (That is the particular Nazi scum that's washed up today, correct?) should receive some unpleasant letters from our MPs or some such, as well as an official statement about how Forenia will not be deporting any Jews until and unless we see some evidence that they are responsible for any sort of damage or betrayals or even just evidence that they're a bad influence on children or something.

Schrodinger's Diplomats V2 V3: Overcomplicated Revenge
We give Himmler a few 'Jews' and send him off on his vessel, escorted by the Forenian Navy because of the threat of Cannalan vessels. There will be an encounter with the Cannalan Navy that results in the ship going down. A bomb on the radio antenna, and a small one under the waterline, will be detonated when we come under fire from Cannalans, at which point 'relief forces' will board the vessel to 'help' keep the ship afloat, 'discovering' a tragically dead Himmler and saving the 'crew' (Actually just shooting them all and saving our fake Jews) before the vessel explodes a little more and sinks.

Overcomplicated but it would work. Probably best to go with the original Shrodinger's Diplomats plan.

As much as I'd like to do Schrodinger's Diplomats, it'd be nigh impossible to pull off, again Germany, subs, utter lack of ASW... Heck, I'm still partial to Barbarossa 2, just for the shear No it has.
