If that doesn't work, stand back and let Ecalir show it what-for. Support with rifle and Rexington if it's needed. If he slays the beast, check it for words and harvest the venom, then cook the remainder into thaum.

Either way, if the scorpion problem is dealt with, then finish escorting these peeps and getting them settled, then return and look through Plumbago and see if anything worthwhile/interesting remains. Oh, and gather some small flying insects&spiders&such from this jungle and take them with me.

Finally, if possible, begin our trek back to snek goddess. Use whatever route goes through the most forest/nature, green then purple probably (see http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=163892.msg8149477#msg8149477).

Let Darwin attempt to ward off the scorpion with his god-given powers.

Should that fail, attack the scorpion, making sure to evade its attacks. Pump about 4 mana into my magical longsword and strike it with that once I find an opening.

It was the core plus some parts of the fighter.  No weapons, no defenses, but sensors and the communication (with pilot) stuff was present.  The goal is to make it a wearable thaumic device, using portions from the force-wall projectors to give it the ability to project defensive force walls.  If it needs sensors to be useful at that, I have a word-jade with View that should let me add them, too.

...reading the logs, it had 'Communication, Life Support, and Navigation' operational.  So I might not need to do air tank work at all, just reshape it as necessary to fit.  The goal is for something to go over my steel cloth armour, arranged in whatever way a vacuum-proof person can still breath with it, and can still fly with the air jet producing wings.  It might be too heavy, but that should be fine in the sky-realm.  Enchantments will be used to reshape it, but the actual functions will be thaumic machinery.

If necessary, I have plenty of gemstones to engrave upon, and at the mansion there are tools and supplies from several thaumic laboratories, along with extra money paid for workshop equipment, which specifically included jeweller's equipment.

I may well combine the sparrow-core and my armour in the future, but want to do that after getting access to a lightweight word, and expending some more spells to harden it.  Right now the lightweight device needs to stay in the moth-plane.

I also have the name of the sky goddess, although I can't remember it atm.  It's been mentioned.

Finish up the suit, put another chunk of magicoal in it to power it up, and purchase some offerings for the altar.  Is there anything else required?  (Ask Ekrov)

"Hey there."

Take off my backpack and leave it behind me, also my knife an other weapons. Sit down crosslegged and set down my lantern on the floor in front of me, along with my glass pendant. Take off my helmet and hold it in my lower two hands. Make eye contact with the rider and hold out one of my upper hands to them.

Hi. We mean you no harm, we were just wondering the cause of a large sinkhole on the surface
You both sit down and make various gestures that you hope come off as friendly or at least non-threatening.  The group of natives watches you do this, the music going from tense to a more low, curious beat.  They clearly do not understand your words but they seem to comprehend the motions as being non-threatening.  The warriors remain steadfast around you but the bat rider shifts the creature so its sitting on its haunches. The rider then makes a noise; its starts as a short of rumbling in her chest like a belch that rolls up into a trilling birdsong whistle that seems to have multiple notes at a time.  You do not hear any words nor have any sort of internal monologue that is not your own. But you feel something, your emotions being subtly highjacked to cause a feeling of weary, patient curiosity.  You think this is what they feel...or a method of communication in a way.

The scorpion hears your brainwave and promptly loses interest and wanders off. Turns out bugs, even big ones, aren't very smart.

You head back to Plumbago and check through the ruins. There's really nothing of interest here; barely even any food or supplies let alone hidden jewels or magical gubbins.

[2v5] The bug hunt ironically doesn't go as well as your dealings with the giant insect.  They stubbornly refuse to follow your commands and generally just continue doing bug things.

For the sake of time, we'll assume you make it back to the temple of your friendly lizard goddess (she had limbs after all), but find it oddly empty. Unlike the massive revelry of before, it currently sits abandoned and quiet. Even the hassling critters you ran into on the way there are gone, or at least far less social.

Alright. For it to fit you and let you fly, you're gonna have to leave your wings exposed and just have it around your body.  Otherwise we'll assume its basically combo cloth and ancient flyer outfit complete with onboard spirit "computer".  Maybe even a nice space helmet with inlaid gold wire for headsup displays.

You use 300 gold buying up plenty of offerings. The only thing you need is to create the altar itself out of whatever material you like.

Huh, figured they'd at least have some of the mercury they used to collect or something. Ah well.

Convert the sack of double jungle into thaum. We can do it in batches over several turns should that give a better yield.

Test the sunbroer staff on Ecalir in a small way, eg. see if we can also change the colour of some of his feathers like we did for the cockatiel.

Look around, any sign of Alizarin anywhere? Also ask around to the animals and plants to see if they know anything or if they can point us in the right direction.

Also check the temple itself, anything interesting written on it (like lore or perhaps eve some magic words?), or anything inside of note? Perhaps a clue as to where everyone is?

If no clues are found, maybe I can use my connection to Alizarin to get an idea of where she is? Or go ask in that nearby village if they have any idea (try to stay -somewhat- incognito, as far as we can manage that these days).

Time to go to space.  Fighter is to look like a breastplate with some kind of facemask for the life support, as the ears are likely not very conducive to a full helmet.  If possible, make the altar out of solidified air, via the Universal Lubricant and another altar-shaped wooden carving, using a mold and a plug to hold it in the right shape for long enough.  If that doesn't work, just make it out of whatever's handy, such as stone or wood or something.

Ask the reactivated Guide golem if it knows anything about the sky kingdom.  Ask it if it can survive in vacuum.  I believe it can translate, so it can come along anyway.

Buy +3 senses for 50 mana, so I can carry my whole supply without having to roll.

Get into the mothmobile, and go up to the remnants of the sky realm, or whatever the proper name of it is.  Take a more detailed look with my enhanced vision now that we aren't going down right away.  Check if the working sensors built into the sparrow spirit can make out anything up here, either.

Extra stuff I'm going to bring is the Reader's Digest, the dose of Panacea, my Alchemist's gear, along with my doctor's equipment and a supply of eating gold.

And the first barrel of magicoal, in case I need to do some refueling.

Ah well indeed.

730 thaum total.

It can, but it would be a Will roll vs his Will unless he gives you permission.

You find some really big shed skin and the animals tell you she's departed to walk the jungle as per usual.

[7v4] The temple shows you several things. First it shows you that Alizarin takes many forms.  Most of them reptilian but not all. Second, it seems to have a calendar of when the gatherings like that will occur. However, the date you attended the last one isn't on here so things might have shifted. They're only 3 times a year anyways so waiting for her would be a very wasteful tactic. You note however that all the images of her show her walking along the river. If you had to guess, she's probably doing just that in some reptilian form right now.

-3 mana.

You establish a telepathic link and "speak" a word of greeting to the batrider.  The batrider does not seem surprised by this; in fact the first thing she responds with is "Ah, you speak the silent tongue?"

Alright. And yes, solid air works.

It knows some things, yes. Mostly its information is limited to the sort of things a tourguide would know. General location information and some trivia.  It can't fly, but it can survive vacuum.

Alright.

Alright on the supplies.

Now when it comes to the sky kingdom, which is what you know it by, its a bit hard to describe in a way thats really effective for traversal. Its like an asteroid belt filled with ruins and wreckage, there's stuff on the X, Y and Z planes and some of it is upside down or spinning or orbiting, etc. In terms of really big things, there are basically three that catch your attention. The first is that giant hive of mechanist machines you saw when you were last up here. The second is a big domed building and its surrounding structures, and the last is what looks like the milkyway, but its obviously a physical object hovering above the ruins, not a nebula a million lightyears away.

Levelups after recieving my Thaum from sugardaddy Darwin:
Strength to +3
Endurance to +3
Speed to +3
Senses to +2

Which should come to 210 thaum in levelups

For the record, Darwin has my permission to change my plumage/appearance. And you can assume he has my permission for pretty much all changes in the future unless I specifically state otherwise.

Use 210 mana to bring Darwin's Will to +5 (do it in steps to avoid having too much mana inside me at once)
Give 210 mana to Pan for stat upgrades (see his post).

97 to Darwin
30 thaum into Pan's flammenwerfer.
110 thaum we keep in bottles

Collect the skin (unless that would be blasphemy or disrespectful or something), does it have any special properties? Process it so it won't spoil or degrade (assuming that would't remove any special properties it has).

Go track down sneklady, using the sunbroer staff to ask the animals and plants to guide our way.

then let's make him fabulous! Maybe like a cross between a kingfisher and a toucan? Or perhaps more like a bird of paradise? Whatever Ecalir prefers or would look good really.

Ask the guide what the big domed building is.  Head that way first, moving the mothmobile until it's close to it, and flying the rest of the way.  Keep a look out for any small asteroids.. do they look ordinary?  Are there like small buildings on them or anything?
